[Dynagroove] Coachella Madness

My goodness what a weekend... where to start.

Friday night was chill, just dinner n a video with Grandma. It's a nice
change of pace from the usual friday nite hustle... by the time I got home I
was tooo damn tired to head over to hollywood for some Diz.

Saturday, woke up early to put my clothes in the dryer, forgot to reset my
alarm and didn't make it out to my rendezvous point to head out to Coachella
til almost noon. A few bowls later, we arrived at Coachella n got in at
4:30.

Needless to say, we missed Adam Freeland. But I got there just in time to
see Ian Pooley! His programming was a little less than I was expecting but I
was NOT disappointed. We made a list of all the act we wanted to catch, and
with the exception of the ones who started before we got in, we saw almost
everyone. Highlight of the night?

St Germain, fo sho. I can't express just how much they rocked. We had to
wait a while to set up the stage, so we got some much-needed rest between
sets... then got up and danced our asses off. I'm not sure how to categorize
what I heard... it was almost like Samba house. The sun was going down, we
had a nice breeze, I took off my shoes n danced in the grass. Life could NOT
have been better at that moment.

After St Germain we moseyed on over towards Doc... he honestly wasn't on my
list of who to see, considering well, I see him a lot. However thanks to the
magic of cell phones I got to meetup with some more people, and headed over.
Doc redeemed himself for his lackluster performance at HSII by kicking major
ass and rockin the crowd. So he kept the good vibes going. Kruder &
Dorfmeister were next, and even tho the tent was hot and crowded we found
space to dance and tore up the floor.

*insert sidebar about crowd here*
This wasn't the usual "rave" or "massive" crowd. I loved it. Usually at huge
events like this you have to deal with tons of tards, or meatheads or thugs
or the usual riffraff who kinda brings you down. I really really really
liked the crowd I was a part of. People who were sitting down were doing it
out of the way, people who stepped in front of you were respectful, I heard
a lot of "excuse me" and didn't have anyone's sweaty hands rubbing against
me. Hoorah.
*back to the show*

I wanted to catch the Orb at the end of the night... but considering how
packed that tent was when we rolled over at midnight, we didn't even bother
tryin to get in.

So we danced outside.

I honestly have to say that Coachella kicked such ass. I haven't had as much
fun at a party...ever. My bestest buddy got the day off at the last minute,
and bein the plurry bitch that I am, I bought her a ticket. I didn't even
buy my OWN ticket (I stuffed bags for 8 hrs to get one)... and it was so
worth it. Guess you can't put a price on friendship.. or a price on a good
time. A lot of my friends (who I didn't expect to see!) were there, and
being surrounded by people I love and the music I love and the sunshine and
the grass and lots of coca cola... well you get the picture. Saturday saw a
very happy juju. I hope you guys all had a bomb-azz time at Dynagroove... I
know I woulda been there if circumstances were different.

cheers
D
