Brad,
I totally agree with what your sayin about how lots of cats mess around with
all the
EQ knobs, I'm not a big fan of that either, just let the thing spin
right!?!...but I do disagree with you on M. Wyatts set, I have to admit it
was a little different than usual, but far from weak. He was out there, and I
don't think everyone was ready for it. I think we're all used his usual hot
grooves, but in my opinion I think he felt like he had to do some different
type of set because of Mr. Giant Step (Trent) being in town. I've seen M.W.
play at various spots here in L.A. and he's been nothing but on point every
time. I mean I'm no expert on his career but he's been around for a real hot
minute and I think by now he knows how to blend. I haven't followed R.T. that
long, just got open to him last year actually, but I have to say his album
(sessions v.I) is really good. Now grant it, its a different situation puttin
a record together in the studio then doin a live set out somewhere, but I
feel that R.T. gots some blends too..Like I said I'm not digging on the whole
lets tweak all the knobs deal, but these two cats threw down some cool shit
that night, that place was crakin', and peoples was really feelin it...
appreciating and respecting the folks on the decks,
