[Dynagroove] re: wax party (Harvey)

I went so that I could check out Harvey and see what the hype was about as 
the last time I had seen him I really wasn't too into the whole abstract 
mixing/playing rare records aspect and was expecting your typical beat 
matching DJ.. This time I was ready, and couldn't wait to hear what he was 
gonna drop on us...

...unfortunately he had chosen to play the actual label of one record for 
quite sometime after the needle skipped all the way to the end, then mixed 
that into a nice sine wave tone which he proceeded to scratch for a minute 
(Wait, what year did Harvey win the DMC championships again?!), and then 
after a little silence, he dropped another record.. all the while never 
putting down his drink.. What a true DJ...

could be he had an off night, i did hear some decent records being played, 
but I also heard the volume dropped then cranked twice as loud as it was 
before he lowered it repeatedly.. woooohooooo!!! my ears!!!!!

anyway, here's to hoping it was an off night and he really is the legend 
that he's been made up to be.. I have a pretty bad record of going to see 
the 'legendary' dj's and actually being impressed, so maybe I'm just 
expecting too much, but guys like Kerri Chandler, Francois K, LLV, etc 
never seem to disappoint...

haven't heard any reviews on the wax party last friday with Harvey all 
night....did anyone go??? how was it????let peoples know....i missed out on 
everything last weekend...took a cruise to Mexico.....looking for to mark 
e. quark this weekend....
