Well I had a nice time in Santa Barbara, though it was a bummer to not be
able to play there. Everyone involved with Summertime was very professional
and nice, just got a bit of bad luck with the authorities. Lisa and I got
up to SB about 5 or so Friday night, met up with Brett at his record store,
Choice Cuts, and had dinner with him and his girlfriend. Then we relaxed
for a while (long week!) and headed to the party around 11 or so. It got
warmer each day last week, and by Friday night it was it warm and beautiful
out. The party was nestled into ruins and overlooked the ocean, so you
couldn't beat the conditions. Well then the bad part with the cops - after
that we were still wired form coffee and red bull and ended up driving to
Solvang for Danish Pancake breakast -mmm! The next day we spent looking at
the butterflies a park by the ocean where all the butterflies are this time
of year. So we learned anyway. All in all a nice weekend, hopefully I can
go to Santa Barbara again sometime soon, I really was looking forward to
playing there...
Ben
