wellllllll, kids This will be my last post about this gig...as I don't want to bog the board down with any more of this particular discussion. I do have to say this though, While I value your opinion, and respect that you are friends with the dj's/promoters...I too know tony, and yes .. he rarely is off.. in fact..he is and has been part of my top ten for a while... As far as the F.A.M.I.L.Y. Fiasco.. Lets not all kid ourselves.. I have supported family through the good times, and the bad times, since prolly around 96 is when I remember family strong..I have never had a problem, and yes they have been busted before.. But nothing gets me more frustrated (and please understand this is just frustration, nothing more) when a respected team of promoters, DSOF and Family, don't do everything that they possible can to make sure the event went off.. This was Something completely in there control..I know that because I help with a number of events in LA, and work planning team!
s, dedicated to getting all the proper permits, licenses etc.... so that the venue is is truly one that will rock it all night.. Is that too much to ask.. It really shouldn't considering they expected us to give them $20 bucks each.. I expected them to at least have a venue open all night, I am a Totally Sober house head..but I love dancing and shaking my ass all night... and had they done what they set out to do (which was throw a fun, jammin party) we would all be happy campers.. I am SooOoO over this it isn't even funny..But with all the business and support I give promoters, and especially family, I deserve to be able to voice my opinion, with out having it discounted.. They messed up..Bottom line end of story.. they didn't do there jobs, and thus, they took $20 bones from each of us, and didn't spend a lick of it on the important things, like venue permits etc... It isn't like we are picky about our DJ's.. we can stand for at least good music (mind you, we would al!
l love some of our personal favorites) but that is besides the point..
Look ..I love my Family..And I love HOUSE WITH A FRICKIN UNDYING PASSION!!!!!! ..But ..don't jip me for $20 bucks.. if you do..at least don't let me know you jipped me.. Anyone could tell It wasn't the SAFEST Place in the
>>world.. From the stairs with no gaurd rails leading to the outdoor area, to
>>the run down bridge with Wooden supports, to the Stairway from hell "watch
>>that first step guys, its a dooOoOozy" and all the way to that 2nd drop
>>next
>>the handrails outside, Man that place was a accident waiting to happen.
PEACE HARLEY., PEACE LIST..I will keep my mouth shut now..I am sure we will all appreciate it...hahaha* Okay..lates..

>Welllllll
>
> I arrived with Tony Noodles around..errrrr say 11:30 and the location that
>they used last night had been used the last few weeks (so i heard) for
>various other parties. Now I do remember back in January, that they had
>used that venue, and hadnt had a prob, but shit happens and i think everyone
>knows this was going to be a more underground event. I know that really
>sucks that u lost 20 bucks, but we all take that risk in going to an event
>like that. As for the trainwrecking, Tony had told me that the needles were
>reallllllyy wirn and pretty much useless..this is why it sounded like two
>trains barreling into each other. Cause i know Tony real well, and he
>rarely, if ever, train wrecks that much in one single set. So oh well 20
>bucks down the drain...I know it sucks, but noone meant for these things to
>happen, although u do have a point on the permit thing, I still respected
>what they do and what vibe they bring. So today is a new day, get over it,
>move on...there will always be other nights to shake your ass... All i have
>to say is that Family and DSOF had done a great job decorating and making
>that place look great for the party. Lord knows they had a lot of props
>cause i helped take them all down!
>
>nuff said
>have a good day

>>First off I want to say, Baaaaaaaaaaaaad Family, promoters. The Event for
>>all whom don't know was shut down.
>>
>>Now I know there are alot of kids out there that just say "damn" that sux
>>it
>>was shut down, damn LAPD. but no..I say bad F.A.M.I.L.Y and DSOF, I
>>know we are trying to stay underground and all, but come on now..
>>Everyone
>>who went can definetly TELL there was no way in hell anyone could get that
>>place permitted for business let alone to hold a dance event.. Although I
>>loved the location, lets all admit.. It wasn't the SAFEST Place in the
>>The music was decent, but in both rooms within the course of an hour I
>>easily
>>cought like 6 trainwrecks, It sounded like an AMTRAK station in there,
>>was
>>it dirty needles, dirty records, or were you guys genuinely trying to
>>mix????
>>
>>I am just REAL Frustrated when I spend $$ on GAS, and then $20 bucks a
>>head,
>>for a event, where the promoters know that it has a huge chance of getting
>>busted.
>>
>>With the MONEY saved, by IGNORING Permit costs, Line Up (although good, and
>>I
>>would have loved to hear them, lets admit, they couldn't possibly charge
>>an
>>arm and a leg to spin) and a respectable venue, you could have at LEAST
>>PASSED THAT SAVINGS TO US "YOUR FAMILY" SUPPOSEDLY!!!!! But noOoOoOoO
>>we
>>got jipped at the door with the cost, and at the party, because it was
>>busted....
>>
>>Other than that, I saw some gorgeous girls, met 1 really nice person,
>>Shaked my money maker for about 45 minutes, Got some props, and heard some
>>decent music..
>>
>>F.A.M.I.L.Y.'S 1-10 rating
>>3 and a 1/2
