I rarely write reviews to the list regarding events, but I had such a danceable
weekend.
Euphonic on Thursday was excellent as usual. I have yet to miss an Euphonic
event. I love hearing the new talent that is brought out on Thursday nights. I
have really gotten into listening to sets from the DJs booked for Euphonic. I
was very excited for the opportunity to hear Tim Schumaker. I managed to camp
myself a nice spot in front and danced through his whole set. The best part
about coming out to hear the producers is that they play stuff not yet
release. :) Tim's set made it even more disappointing to know that I missed the
last time he played, at Blue. For those of you who have not attended Euphonic,
you are truly missing out. The sound is great and there is plenty of dance
floor space and the line-ups have been phenomenal. There has not been a bad
night so far. I am definately looking forward to hearing Lance and Gemini this
Thursday.
So now onto Fundamental. This was the same space as Perception the week before.
It was nice to see the space a little filled with people. I would like to see
what the next few parties there are like. There is plently of opportunity for
some interesting space planning. I didn't end up checking out the upstairs all
night. In short, I spent about 4 1/2 hours on the main floor dancing. I was not
in the least bit disappointed in the DJs...there isn't much more to say...I was
sad to leave and not catch Ben's set, but I wanted to avoid the traffic blocks
for the LA Marathon and my knee was killing me.
All in all, fabulous.
COME TO EUPHONIC!!
