I have a review for FreeThinking and Life Music Show! Where do I start.
Ahah! Okay...off to FreeThinking. We get there to find Tony Noodles on the
decks. He was actually spinning some groovey toones and had the dance floor
jumpin. Then Mr. Gemini jumped on the decks and played a really solid set.
With the couple off-beats he still rocked the set. I like his style alot and
believe he is up there with Mr. Diz and a couple of his other fellow
Chi-Town dj's. I saw a lot of firmiliar faces too. Some old and some new.
Great time on Friday. I'm not even gonna mention the fact that we went to
Move afterhours. We had friends in from outta town that wanted to keep
partying the night away so we took them there. Bad mistake, the music was
weak, but the honnies were fine and good to go (even if it was 5am in the
morning).

Now on to Life Music. I rolled up with my good friends Nino and Hector. We
get there around 12:30am or 1am. When we first get to the front door the
security was cool "but" the girl working the door had a very bad attitude
and if I wasn't a gentleman I'd call her a bi*c# but I won't. I don't know
her personally but I was told she is Jason Blakemore's girlfriend. Let me
explain the reason why I think of her as a mean person. I mistakenly thought
this was the Life party that Vince throws. So, I asked her if I was on
Vinces g-list. She flipped her wig and right away trash talked him and his
production. Then she tells me this is the life music label party. And I said
oh sorry my bad. Well, I asked for club courtesy since we were promoting our
friends lil' party's with John Howard on the 31st and the loft party this
saturday. I then said I was from Sacred Grounds and she just plain out
dissed me and my crew. What a mean person! She goes on how we suck and a few
other bad words about us. It made me laugh at first because I got soooo
pissed, but kept my composure and just asked can I get a discount at the
least. I didn't have much cash on me, and don't own a ATM card, but my other
two friends paid full price. Door drama!!! Thats cool that she feels that
way about us but to treat paying patrons and fellow production/party
throwers that way. Not Cool!!! I'll speak with Jason regarding this matter,
but will never go to a Life Music party again. Unless they book one our
residents...right. So, Jason if you are reading this please email me
privately so we can chat a bit. As for the party itself well...gotta give
props where props is due, and Twenty twelve was good. Jason Blakemore, well
he was good when I first heard him at Omni Center back in 1996. I will try
and take another listen to him when I'm not so upset. Didn't stay long
enough to give my opinion on set.
Now for Revival... that was a good show. Doc, and Rob is all I gotta say.
And there was no door bullshit there, just smiles and friendly greetings
from the doorman, g-list girl and the people who throw it. It's probably
different with these promoters because I have know them for a really long
time now and don't know jason's girl at all. Just a lil' comparison between
OC heads and L.A. heads. I think I'll stick to going to parties that are
thrown by people I personally know from OC. To avoid slander and wackness. I
need to make one thing clear though. I did pay half price to get in thanks
to my good friend Benjamin. Thanks brotha! If I had the full $20 I would
have paid too. But only had $10 bucks...pooor right now can anyone spare
some shake. heheheheee...funny.

Peace,
G-Dubbs
