Here's my take on the BIG event... Well we
started off by waiting in a line of cars to get
to the venue. It took us about 1.5 hours to get
to the place once we got off the freeway. I was
playing in the v.i.p. room and only had 1/2 hour
to get inside to play. I go to the ticket booth
only to find out that they ran out of passes.
Ummm.. How am i supposed to get into the room i
am playing @ w/out a pass??? They give me a
regular ticket and I have to fight thousands of
candykids to get to the front of the line to rush
on in. I finally get ahold of Brock( Thank you)
and get sorted out. The room was very poorly
set-up. The sound was crap, the tables were
cheesy, but the food wasn't bad. You figure what
these kids are paying extra for they would have
taken care of them better. After I was done I
went to go check out the s-man. He was playing
cool stuff. I actually expected alot more out of
the guy considering his stature. I hung out in
the 2nd room most of the night, cuz the Sound
Factory guys were doing that room. Those guys
have great sound productions. They had 40
cabinets rocking!!! Room 2 definitely had the
best sound!! It was just a reminder why we always
have them do our sound!! Sneak busted a solid
set!! I always love checkin' him out and he never
lets me down. After Sneak busted Doc came on and
took us home. Doc played a great set also. When
his set was done I thought the kids were going to
riot. One more song!! One more song!!! What can
you do? The cops are on your back and the kids
still want more... He packed his stuff and shook
the spot. All in all, it was a good night. I
heard there was 50,000 people there and 102 drug
arrests. One more thing.. What happened to Juan?
He didn't show up and Mr. FS had to play a 3 hour
set. Props to that dude, considering he was
supposed to play an hour and didn't bring that
many records. Well that's my take!! I hope
everyone had fun @ HSII or anywhere else they
ventured to!!!
