THIS WEEK: HOLMAR FILIPSSON & HENRY SELF


This week, we welcome Icelandic house legend HOLMAR FILIPSSON (N'ice Recordings, Twilo, Centro-Fly).  Holmar started as a pioneering promoter back in 1991, doing warehouse parties in Reykjavik, Iceland. This led him towards his first residential Djing job in 1994 at his own club called "Venus". This club became a legend in Icelandic club history where many dj's and bands visited, such as Underworld's own Darren Emersson and Britain's St'ettiene.  Since then, he's dj'ed all over the world, eventually settling in NYC where he throws the legendary N'ice party at Centro-Fly with A-Gram.  If he wasn't busy enough, he recently started N'ice Recordings, which is keeping him and others busy in the studio working on upcoming releases.  After having Holmar rock our world in St. Louis and Miami, we HAD to bring his here to share with all of our friends...

Opening up for Holmar is resident HENRY SELF (Flux, The Standard, founD8tion).  If you haven't had the pleasure of checkin out Henry lately at Free Thinking, Giant, The Standard or on TribeRadio ... then you should drop by early to Tangent.  Henry considers himself not so much a DJ as someone who appreciates good music.  His vast collection of vinyl is an encyclopedia of dance music history, and Henry's sets are bound to cover some wide territory on their journeys.
