[Dynagroove] FW: Deep funk Histroy Lesson

To anyone who is confused:


First off, I'd like to introduce myself to you, since that seems to be the 
first inaccuracy perceived by your party throwing team called 'deep funk' 
-rumors of tony noodles owning deepfunk records are false and should be 
squashed immediately. I am aware this has been explained to you before 
-nothing has changed. Though our family is growing, currently deepfunk 
records has a sole owner - me.

        Here's a quick history lesson.

Deepfunk was a name coined during the northern soul movement in london
during the 60's. Deepfunk was what the people called the MUSIC they listened 
to and it eventually became an event there as well. Keb Darge was a young dj 
at the time and has been credited with coining the words 'deepfunk' to 
describe the SOUND of the music. I guess not everyone knows who the real 
deepfunk is.

I had no idea when I was planning deepfunk records back east,
there was another deepfunk in europe, defintely had never heard of you.
Since my awareness of the origin of 'deepfunk', I am making every effort not 
to infringe on the likeness of the original [KEB DARGE] including reaching 
out to him personally. Deepfunk Records is a legally registered entity in 
California and had to be carefully cleared before we were able to begin 
conducting business. Even though my name is legally on the deepfunk records 
paperwork, I still recognize and pay much homage and respect to Keb Darge 
and the whole northern soul scene - a great name was born from that era!

I'm not sure if any of this is making sense, or even if you'll read this at 
all. Its obvious that you feel I have stolen the name 'deepfunk' from you - 
don't flatter yourself! Though we both thought of this name while being 3000 
miles apart, apparently neither one of us were truely the FIRST to invent 
the name.

I will continue to run deepfunk records with the objective of providing a 
high quality of funky dance music. If you still feel there are unresolved or 
unsettling issues, don't hesitate to call me.
