After calling local and 800 American red Cross numbers about 100 times, I 
finally got through to the Westwood Chapter.  

The man I spoke with said that the Downtown and Westwood branches were full 
today, and would not admit any more blood donors.   Tomorrow, the downtown 
chapter will not be open for donations, but the Westwood chapter will be open 
from 10 am to 7 pm.  Donations will be taken on a first come,  first serve 
basis.  You can try to make an appointment by calling 1800 give life, but it's 
almost impossible to get through.

on the VA campus.

If you don't live near Westwood, keep redialing your local chapter until you 
get through.  Many places may be full today, so try to call first.
