DJ PRESTO ((concrete grooves, mushroom jazz 3))

DJ Presto started DJing at the age of 15 with an ear for music with a solid 
jazzy groove to it. He started out playing hip hop, acid jazz, house, and 
soul/funk records while playing at parties and eventually spinning at clubs. 
In 1994, Presto started 2 radio shows under his early alias DJ Chris D. on 
840 AM L.A., both called "Underground Frequency".  The first show focused on 
jazzy hip hop and acid jazz and the second show focused on jazzy house and 
other soulful beats.  Both shows caught listeners and then the shows combined 
to one show in 1995 called "Underground Frequency" on KXLU 88.9 FM L.A.  On 
this show it was mainly jazzy and soulful house beats but also some acid jazz 
flavor too. He also spun at various underground spots. 
In 1996-99, Presto began producing and started production for unsigned 
underground artists with his jazz influenced beats under his production name 
Next Level Productions.  In '96, he was a member of a hip hop group he formed 
called Level One while spinning at events and clubs. 
In 2000, Presto started his record label Concrete Grooves and hit it off with 
his first release "DJ Presto-Breakin Concrete" (available exclusively on 12" 
vinyl).  This is a 6 song jazzy instrumental EP that was reviewed by both Urb 
and XLR8R Magazine in their Abstract review sections.  It is respected by DJS 
and headz in the hip hop , house, downtempo, jazz, and other scenes.  His hit 
"Relax Your Mind" off of his EP was hand picked by DJ Mark Farina for his 
album Mushroom Jazz 3 on OM Records.  You can also check "Relax Your Mind" in 
the new movie "Purpose" with Paul Reiser coming out soon.  Presto currently 
has his second release out called "Impressions On Concrete" (available 
exclusively on 2x12" vinyl) which is a jazzy instrumental compilation 
featuring tracks by DJ Presto and other artists like DJ Smash (New Breed, 
Blue Note, Instinct), Fat Jack( Kingsbread, Massmen), OMID (Beneath the 
Surface), and DJ Haul and Fischer P. (Afrodisiac Records).  It includes DJ 
Smash's acid jazz classic "Superstar" plus a new remix of it as well.  For DJ
