friday night started out with free thinking.
i was pleasantly surprised to hear that cle'
was taking over the opening slot, well because
"CLE'- THE BEST DJ EVER, SO DONT EVEN BOTHER
LISTENING TO THE OTHERS....". ahh those texans.
i wonder what is in the water that makes them
all so tall, incredibly talented and nice.
cle' always impresses me with his programming.
he keeps it interesting by layering things that
you would never expect. you are always pleasantly
surprised when he plays, forced to dance and
impressed by his consistancy. wally followed with
a really nice and funky set. louis sf, peter and
irik did a nice job of keeping people on the
patio. i am still a bit torn on the patio itself.
some nights i am fond of it, others i would just
like a place to socialize without shouting over
the music. however, it really does seem ideal
during the summer.
i was a little disappointed that we didn't get
to hear someone new, but now i am happy to hear
the andrew burke may be playing this friday as
well. even so, at least dj spettro is coming back!!
should be a killer combination with jonene.
saturday was early for set up and errands. i thought
cade played great. lots of new music and some really
really awesome tracks. then came jamie. i am so glad
jamie got this timeslot. i thought he was just killer. so
good. lots of new stuff and old stuff. he is just so
smooth on the tables.
then came diz. everytime i thought i was tired, i hit
the dance floor to realize that there was more energy out
there than i could deal with. i love diz because he
kicks your ass everytime single time he plays and especially
when he plays a dynagroove. he never slowed down. just
fantastic. and good new stuff from freaks...yay yay yay!
i was sweating, clapping and having a grand old time.
i love diz.
i will say this over and over again. no matter how
often you think you hear jamie and diz, who are steller
djs always, they just always bump it up another notch at
dynagroove. always.
the crowd was great. lots of energy, lots of fun, no
drama at the door, chill on the patio. i'm glad i found
my sweatshirt on the drunk girl.
thanks to everyone who came out and had a great time and
to all those who helped set-up, work during the event and
clean-up, sara, fabian, matt, the genetically blessed
family...you all make it a lot easier and way more fun.
thanks to cade for still keeping it interesting and fun.
i'm really glad this one went well.
i am going to go back to listening to my new cd from jamie
now. i want more pictures.
zoki.
ps. come to my party september 14. its called altitude.
don't forget.
