[Dynagroove] First Jhymn party since last winter... are you ready for something completely different? :-)

We're going for a shplagack of diverse musical "bang-to the beat of the drum - bang - to the beat of the drum" for your "I'm bigga and badda and ruffa and tuffa, in other words suckah there is no other -- I'm the one and only dominator!" listen and dancing pleasure.

Big name special guest... Undercover Agency... Lance DeSardi and JT Donaldson... local boys with a lot to say via their creative aural outlet... definitely the flavor of the summer... definitely worth coming out and supporting...

Big name resident... DJ Greyboy out of SD and Ubiquity records representing underground hip-hop, acid jazz, soul, funk, breaks, everything you can and can't imagine will inspire you to crack a smile and say HI to that person you haven't seen since the last time we all got together all in celebration of something fun and yet new.

Low, low price... only $5 before 11pm... you can't beat that! And still, only $10 after but that includes dancing until 4am for this one and only show that you don't want to miss.

Also -- if any of you have been to any of the Soundlessons parties, Firecracker, Pause, or any other of these hiphop/jungle/80's/funk/soul/breaks shmorgasborgs of sound, we're bring on J-LOGIC (the promoter/resident of Soundlessons) as a regular at this party as well.

And, if you know our boy Ramsay Monegro, (you might have heard him about a month ago at Free Thinking on the patio, the night that Sacred Grounds hosted), you know what a true musical gift he has at picking out just the right records to hit you right in the middle of your chest... where all the love flows in and out... I know that sounds totally spacey/hippy/corny, but seriously, this boy plays records to our emotions.

ANYWAY... if you're familiar with gatherings I that I've been involved in over the years, you've hopefully figured out by now that I haven't gotten rich off of it. If that's not the case... I mean, seriously, if I've been throwing parties since 1993 and pretty much lived hand to mouth for almost an entire decade doing these things, there has to be some other magical reason as to why I've put myself through stress of putting together parties over the years. Well, I'll tell you why...

It's because I love it... I love the art of creative environments for people to come, meet each other, interact, form new relationships, bonds, debauchify, and whatever else comes from the very unique environment we've all come to know and love. I love putting on parties that offer something a little different from the norm... I love spreading love propaganda... I love the idea that somehow in some way, this is the one thing that I do that helps spread a little light into the world and somehow, in someway, it will infect a couple of people that show up to these gatherings and help create a better world for the rest of us.

I know this is wishful thinking, but it's this optimism that's driven me over the years and this higher purpose that has allowed me the ability to sometimes beg my family for a monthly rent check when I've just paid thousands for my extended friends and family to party... as twisted as that sounds. heh.

If you haven't been out to one of my events, I invite you to come out and see what we're all about... if you have been and you've appreciated parties I've been involved with over the past whatever amount of time, I ask that you come and support this gathering. It's going to be fun... it's going to be worth $5 at the very least, and I'm sure a whole lot more. If this party goes well, then we'll be doing another and another and another and another... and we'll keep it cheap, fun, and worth every penny you spend, and hopefully create some memories that will last a lifetime. That is, if we have any braincells left by the time we grow up, which will hopefully be never. heh.

So, anyway, without further adieu... the email you've hopefully been bombarded with over the past couple of weeks...
