we arrived at 3 and found the line-blob as already described.  it seemed like every new person who showed up knew someone in the line in front of us, so we weren't moving too quickly.  we remained optimistic though, because it wasn't too cold, the people in line were friendly and every now and then the door opened and emitted a few seconds of that addictive beat, which kept the hope alive.  
we waited until around 4, then the club security announced that no one else would be let in and we all had to leave.  lots of people did leave, but we stuck around and in about 10 minutes almost all the people still around got let in.  it appeared that one of the promoters had taken charge of the line.  so we got in.  woo hoo!  
i think the cover was supposed to be 15 and they charged us 20.  but at that point everyone was just so glad to be there.  danced until the sun came up!  a night to remember, for sure.  energetic crowd, good vibe.  hot and sweaty, but that was part of the fun.  at 6 the bar re-opened, and that got things re-invigorated for a bit.  the crowd was moving till the very end.  not sure why they closed down when they did, but as soon as we walked out the door we were all greeted by a herd of cops, scanning people as they left.  oh well.  it was an awesome night.
