[Dynagroove] About this broken party...

I'd like to say sorry to the folks that didn't have a good time.

I/WE (BODYROCKDJS) weren't directly involved, however as guys that helped
promote the party, I feel as if I should apologize.

Although we were simply booked as DJs, we try and help in any way we can.
We did everything we could all night to get the party going properly. And
we did for some. But alas it wasn't our party. And Hollywood blvd is
difficult spot. With Spundae down the street and the Hollywood crowd
roaming the streets the vibe was a little off. I agree. It was a gamble to
have the party in that location. Unfortunately it didn't quite pay off.

There were some good things. The music in the 2nd room seemed to catch
people and hold them. Everyone was happy at midnight. A couple hundred
others were enjoying the music. The ticket price was the same as anything
else. The location was comfortable.

We were excited to throw love on to the dance floor and let the smiles fly.
We (bodyrockdjs) gave out as many Cd's as we had. Trying to redeem some of
the vibe. We had a great set in store for you. But we didn't even get to
play, because the fire marshal came down on the party fairly hard.

To the promoters credit, and for what it's worth, the venue owner wasn't
upfront about his permits. That's not an excuse, however. And although the
risk involved with party producing is high for ANY promoter or production
crew w/o a club, when things go smoothly it's worth it. i.e. 90% of this
year's parties. And again Hollywood blvd contributes an odd vibe. But if
the fire marshal doesn't like your party he will shut you down no matter who
you are. (The fire marshal shut down The Voodoo Lounge the night we had
Funkenstein)

And also there was pretty stiff competition with all the different parties
happening. FAMILY, CHACHACHA PROJECT, WAX, GIANT, TAO, and almost the DEEP
STAGE at Spundae. That makes for a more varied crowd and sometimes, less
friendly. Sometimes choosing a party when there is so much to pick from can
be daunting. I've made plenty of mistakes and discoveries attending the
"other" party. For almost 8 years I've had to choose every weekend.
Coughing up the same amount of dough as everybody. And it still continues.

Anyway to everyone that had a tough new year's, so did we. That day is
over, and now we look forward to all the great parties coming up in this
first quarter.

We are simply 3 of the 14 DJs that were scheduled to play. And we offer an
apology and also regret that we didn't get to share our vibe with you and
the rest of the crowd. Hit me up for a CD, Sylvia. And to others that were
there and would like a CD respond privately. Our LAST BodyRock event was
the Toy Drive on Dec 22nd and the NEXT one is the party on February 9th.
Some of us may play at other events but we are putting our stamp on to the
February 9th party.

On behalf of the BodyRockDJs (benjamin, marcus, and soul)

the voice,

benjamin

More years will come and we hope they turn out better for you, and us,
honestly.

And absolutely, always use your voice for your opinion that's what it's
there for.
thank you for reading me

First of all, Happy New Year to all!!!
I hope everyone had a blast last night, whether you
went out, stayed in, or like myself-went dancing!
Dancing is so my passion, and when the plan for New
Years came about, it was all about getting my groove
on when the clock strikes 12. Reccomended to me by so
many Dynagroovers, Broken was seeming to be the choice
party.
Well I would just like to say that Broken was really
truly a disappointment. This party, was perhaps one of
the worst I have been to. The music was heavy and
lacked positivity, which amazes me because New Years
is meant to be a celebration. The max amount of
celebration I felt, was when I went out side and saw
the fireworks and cheer coming from Spundae...
There are two kinds of vibes you receive at a party-
the awesome infectious vibe that spreads throughout
and GIVES everyone an amazing feeling of vibrance,
feeding your mind and soul with warmth.
Then, there is the "other" vibe, like for instance the
one last night....it is much like the first, it does
spread and infect, except it TAKES....it TAKES that
feeling of vibrance you had when you walked in,
enthused and ready to go, it takes that away from you
and pisses on it.
Basically the music was almost sad to listen to, the
vibe of goodness was nonexistant, the people were
uninteractive and few, and the tickets were way too
expensive, the party.....a letdown.
I have never written a review before, I am always in
great spirit after a Dynagroove related party. But I
think this had to be said because no-one should have
to go to a party like that, for the money that was
paid. Personally as well, I found it quite
disheartening because everytime I decide to venture up
to LA to dance my buns off, I have to look forward to
a good 45 minute drive.
Although not positive, expession is important.
Thanks for reading, and please respond.
Peace,
Sylvia.
