WHEW...
I guess I'll finally chime in and give my thanks for all the comments, good
and bad ...
First off ... big props to the DJs ... Everyone was great, and I think Stace
(from DJLA fame) might have played the best set I've heard from him in the
past year.
I didn't know what to expect from AquaVee and she blew me away. Let's all
try and book her out more in the coming year. Zach & Tim - broken as usual.
Kenneth - REALLY deep. I could go on and on ... and I will ...
Was the music at Broken deep and scary? OF COURSE. That's why its called
Broken, not Happy Fun Sunshine Ball. We are far more NYC than SF ... more
Tenaglia than Farina and we make no apologies for that. If we sounded like
everyone else, then what would be the point?
Just like everyone else, I was very disappointed that Bodyrock couldn't
play. I'm as big a fan as anyone else. The venue owner was ill prepared
for the fire marshal, but we DID keep going almost 3 hours longer than they
wanted us to. The building is owned by the city, so thus we will likely
work out a stable way to use it in the future.
The sound was amazing, thanks to Bodyrock and Rhythm & Sound. And my ol bud
Jason 12 (and Dazy's boy, no less) freaked us out with his trademark
projections.
Sorry to all that it ended early, but we plan on doin something small this
month or next to make it up. Hope everyone has a GREAT new year and thanks
for the support!
