Friday I found myself sitting in the back of Jonra's truck getting a ride
to free thinking. Unfortunatly on wednesday I was rearended while
driving home from work. So it is catching rides for me. Anyway got to
free thinking and jonra warmed the night up. I know many of you kids out
there don't like jonra but I don't care what any of you say I think he is
an excelent DJ. His recoird selection is great and his programmng and
mixing style is unique to anyone else in LA. Jonra banged away as I sat
in the back and ate my Linguine. Up next was Ben from Om up in
portland. I really didn't knowwhat to expect from this guy. He got on
and was playing OK a little hard but he slowly brought it up higher and
higher untill it was almost trance or techno. Luckly some audience
members gave him the dealio. I guess some girl told him "Cade says you
need to bring it down." I don't even know who the girl was. Oh
well. Bring it down he did. He actually finished the night up by playing
some pretty good tracks. It was quite the change to say the least.
Saturday was "Love American style" I can honestly say that something in
my gut told me that this was going to be a good time. I arrived at 11:00
to hear JT playing some goodies to a surprising number of early
arrivals. I settled in and listened to JT play for half an hour then it
was my turn to play. All I can say is I had fun!!! I started pretty
mellow then worked my way into some disco stuff that most people know me
for. I was having a great time and all I can say is big thanks to The
Golden Rule crew for letting me play. Mike Breul went on after me. I
must say the he played a great set. Some new stuff and some great
classics from years ago. It is always a great thing when you hear a
person for the first time and your pleasantly surprised. *wink* at about
3:30 I went home for some much needed rest. How did the rest of the event
go?
How was the heading home event? Anyone hit up Deep last night?
