i think the house scene there is a little strange - i played a couple
parties in phoenix a month or so ago, and the crowds can definitely be a
bit closed-minded, which is kind of a drag, and i feel like there are a
lot of people out there who are jaded without a good reason to be jaded.

that said, i've played some really cool gigs in az as well.
