lo.cal

Hello,

We're very excited about this week, as it kicks off the first of two very special performances by out-of-town guests we highly respect and can't wait to hear. For this week, please join us for a long awaited appearance by:

Pal Joey

Eclectic N.Y.C. dance music legend Pal Joey made his name through the late '80s and early '90s, making beats, remixing, producing and DJing. He's produced artists ranging from Deee-Lite and Boogie Down Productions to Roots Foundation; remixed the likes of Sade and Lisa Stansfield; and created the Loop-D-Loop and New Breed series. Pal rarely plays in Los Angeles, so his appearance @ lo.cal is sure to be a hit.

We've decided to mix it up a bit and climb down from the mountain and venture deep into Hollywood for a one-week-only venue change, so check out the recently remodeled

Boardners
1652 North Cherokee Ave.
East of Highland, just south of Hollywood Blvd.

Drinks priced right, big dancefloor, outdoor patio with its own soundsystem, nice vibe, definitely worth checking out if you haven't been there in a while :)

For this week only we will also extend the discount list to ALL NIGHT LONG. Yep, only $5 anytime you choose to show up, provided you're on the discount list, so please send an email to local at mekanic.com or leave a message on our voicemail @ 323.850.8662 and you're in.

Pal does not come to LA very often and we think you'll be very pleasantly surprised by his wide range of musical talents. Don't miss out on this night!

Peace,

LHP

coming next week:

June 13 Special Guest - Rich Medina

Currently living in Philadelphia, Rich holds weekly DJ residencies in both Philadelphia and New York spinning hip-hop, house, neuvo soul, classic funk, rare grooves and afro beat to name a few. Rich still manages to find time to host and co-own his own Internet radio show, The Dime Sack on Mediabureau.com. Rich co-produced a track on Sony/Hidden Beach Records Recording artist Jill Scott's debut album Who is Jill Scott that went Gold in November 2000. As a DJ, Rich rocks parties the old fashioned way, with good music that stands on its own. His house music and classic dance sets are reminiscent of The Garage and all its pioneering fanfare prior to the age of the industry.
