ST 364-Day Anniversary Follow-Up

Amazing but true, Soul-Titanium is 1 year old (and we even got a
birthday card! THANK YOU!!). It's really hard to believe that we
started with nothing and have come this far. We've featured about 70
DJs over the past year, with 13 of those being Special Guest nights;
all of them sounding excellent. And every one of the DJs that have
come to play has volunteered their time and efforts to support our
common goal. Best of all, we've been successful on our first
contribution to a charity! Read on for the scoop…

The DJ lineup for the evening couldn't have been better and flowed
together perfectly. Starting off the lineup, Monster was throwing
down some of the funkiest funkadelic classics. You might not have
seen him around much, but that's because he's been lurkin' in the
background of ST, making the videos you see on the screens and
designing flyers we've dropped here and there. He's a creative
genius and the least I could do to support his ventures is urge you
to visit his website (http://www.beeinabox.com). Be sure to click on
the "BUZZ" link; you won't be disappointed! (hint: Bassment Jaxx &
Q-Bert)

Next up after Monster was Brion. If you look through the photo
archives you'll see him and Leslie everywhere. They moved down from
SF, happened to see an ST email, and thought they'd come check us
out. Little did they know that they'd be hooked and come down almost
every week to catch the dope vibes and hang out. And on top of being
so damn cool, Brion just knows how to lay down the tribal house with
that true SF feel. His set was smooth and flowing and he definitely
knows how to rock the decks!

After Brion was the true master of the funky house: DJ Darwin
(http://www.djdarwin.com). This guy's been churning out some of the
best mix CDs that I've heard in a long time, and that notoriety was
shown by the way he had the crowd movin' and groovin'. Darwin has
also been a long-time supporter of ST and I really appreciate his
support over the past year!

David Hopper was next up on the decks and I was seriously amazed by
the talent that I saw that evening. Besides being seamless in his
technique, his transitions from track to track were right on. He
flawlessly moved back and forth between funky house and progressive
house in such a way that the crowd would get stuck in a dancing
fever. David (http://www.overeasyrecords.com) was a perfect fit for
our special evening and I really appreciate that he took the time to
come out and support ST!

Transitioning flawlessly off of David's set was a long time favorite
of Soul-Titanium: DJ Jack Martin. If you've ever had the opportunity
to listen to Jack's mix CDs, you'll get lost in the sounds because
the songs flow together perfectly from one track to the next; his mix
that evening was no different! He has a talent for shifting back and
forth between trance and breaks, while keeping the energy high. Jack
has also been a long-time support of ST, being one of the very first
DJs that played at Soul-Titanium!

And probably one of the coolest parts of the evening is the fact that
we are making our first donation. This email was delayed because I
wanted to find out how much the donation was to tell all of you.
So... pat yourselves on the back because you all helped to raise $125
dollars for the American Cancer Society! I also want to thank the
staff at Ripples for supporting our cause because without them, we
wouldn't have this awesome venue to do what we do!!

Oh yeah, the pictures are up... go at it!

IMPORTANT: Please take a chance to visit the sites listed above. I'd
like to help support the people mentioned above as much as possible
because they were nice enough to volunteer their efforts so all of
you could have a free party to go to. It's through this kind of
dedication and support that will keep Soul-Titanium free and
long-lived.

I will also be posting another email very soon with info about our
next special guest. If you have any questions or comments, or if
you'd like to come spin at Soul-Titanium, please do not hesitate to
send an email to soultitanium at yahoo.com
