Rarely do I write party reviews but when an amazing party comes along that
makes you feel like you just have to talk about it, I do. I must first tell
you that I had helped the bodyrock djs transport and set up the sound for
their last party (in the same location) but was unable to attend due to a
surprise attack of food poisoning. This was my chance to experience the
magic that took place at the last Bodyrock party, the magic I'd heard so
much about from my brothers and sisters. The directions to the party were
simple, there was plenty of parking, and getting in was extremely easy due
to the very powertripless security letting people in. Once inside, I found
myself surrounded by my brothers and sisters and quickly found my groove as
Lou laid down some very choice cuts. I was very pleasantly surprised by
Lou's set because I had never heard him mix before and wasn't sure what to
expect. He seamlessly mixed many tracks that I know and love, including one
of my favorite sexy vocal tracks, Sweeter Sound by the Rurals. I was really
surprised to how hard Cade was groovin just before his set. That takes
guts. Seriously, it can be difficult to make that shift in energy from a
very kinetic and excited state to a somewhat more static and focused one.
Cade played a funky set that had the subtle flavors of his disco roots
popping out here and there, and except for that one little trainwreck, he
played a very tight set, showing his ability to creatively control many
frequencies at once. I thought he was going to get all crazy with the
effects processor and overdo it like he did on a Live at Dynagroove tape
that I've heard, but he restrained and used the processor only during choice
points during his set. I don't know if I've been to a party with such a
positive and outgoing vibe pulsing through each person there. I had one of
the best conversations with a cutie named Kelly (thank you) that I've ever
had with a total stranger while out dancing. Right before the Bodyrock Djs
jumped behind the decks, Benjamin pulls me aside and asks me to help out
with the refreshments. No problem homie, it's my pleasure. The vibe was so
thick that there was no way to avoid having fun. I had a truly jolly time
just quenching people's thirst with the fairly priced drinks, all the time
smiling and sending them positive vibrations. After doing my good deed for
the night, I made my way out onto the floor and was kept there until the
last beat dropped. I would like to thank everyone who made it out and
especially those who had such kind words for me regarding my energy. All I
can say is that when I dance, the music feels like it's coming from inside
of me. Anyway, this email is getting way too long and I'm getting way too
many cramps in my legs. Thanks again Bodyrock Djs for an unforgettable
night of dancing, connecting and healing.

Antonio Carlo
