I definitely agree. Let's please stop blaming people for not supporting the scene. I think it's important to remember that we're talking about *parties* here, not funerals. Most people go because they're looking to do something that's FUN. If it's not convenient or attractive for people to attend, then you can't blame them. As a promoter, it's your responsibility to do your best to create something exciting and attractive that will excite people to get off thier butts and not miss what you've got in store for them. Even for great promoters, sometimes you'll win, sometimes you'll lose- sometimes you'll lose, BIGTIME.

Anyhow, I think that if we're going to start trying to get people to come to events out of guilt or out of some obligation to "support the scene," then I think that "the scene" needs some tuning up. Guilting people into it smacks of religion rather than fun.

My 2c,

oh my. please DO NOT put people down for not wanting to drive to bellflower in the rain on a saturday afternoon when many had to be back in LA that evening. give me a break. this is ridiculous. im beyond SICK of hearing people talk about their being "no support" for this or that in LA...sometimes if someone doesn't want to go out, then they just don't want to go out...when did we start faulting people for wanting to stay home? damn...

Although Mobius is a very cool venue, I definetely agree about the security being punks.. one night they didn't even let me in becuase I walked in without them "checking" me. but it was 4am and they werent even blocking the door as I was walking in.

Security is definetely an issue anywhere you go and the promoters may loose business becuase of this.. just a "heads up"

    >>>
to save email cluttor Id like to touch another subject, about yesterdays UnionSoundSystem day party.. NO SUPPORT WHATSOEVER!! with the exception of a few peeps. As I arrived around 8pm (the time I thought it would be most poppin) there were only about 30 people and most were leaving..

I just don't understand what the fuck is up with LA.. this was a DOPE location, great sound and dj's, FREE FOOD, and it was something DIFFERENT! Why didn't anyone come? becuase it wasn't located in Hollywood or becuase it was raining out?? come on! it rains for 2 days in LA and all of the sudden people acting like its Noah's ark! It's rare when 30 of LA's local dj's unite together in a combined effort, there really should be more support for our local talent!

I'd like to thank UnionSoundSystem and everyone involved for trying to keep this scene fresh in LA.. I know you guys are almost at the end of your rope, but keep it goin yall, becuase eventually the masses will support the real!
