This weekend was a hell of a lot of fun. Free thinking was great!
Duanne and scott pace came up from San Diego and played. I thought they
played great! Jonene was scheduled to play but was sick with the tummie
flu (poor baby). So I asked Diz to come in and finish the night off.
But back to Duanne and Scott Pace. These guys are definatly ones that we
want to keep our eye on. Looks like SD is going to a place with tons of
talent. Scott pace, Jonene, Thomas Sahs, Demarcus Lewis, Miles Miada,
Hipp-e, Halo, Duanne, the guys from lifted. We may want to keep our ear
pointed south just so we don't miss anything. Diz of course rocked it.
But was only given about 45 minutes to play with. The patio was hopping.
I thought chris and nori did a great job. We origonally asked chris to
play all night but he requested Nori play with him.. Who am I to say no?
They brought the funk and Nori seemed like the nicest guy. I am glad I
got to hear him friday since I was going to miss him saturday. Thanks a
lot guys!

Saturday was spent mostly prepping for the evenings event. Lots of
dragging chairs, couches and tables out of the "dance area." At one point
we also dragged a couple fans downstairs. But by 8:00 they were stolen
from us by the club upstairs. After the set up and a quick shower I was
behind the decks at exactly 10 PM (a first!). I was happy to see a small
line at the biginning of the night. Some people were smart enough to get
in for $10. I had a good time playing. Got to drop lots of unreleased
stuff (big thanks to Cle' be on the lookout for his label soundproof some
dope tracks!) and some jammie jams. All was well untill jamie thinnes
walked in. Something about jamie just throws me off. When ever he is
around I get sloppy. I hate him. Actually he walked in and I was in the
middle of a mix and the monitor fell over. Thus I got distracted and lost
sound for a moment and proceeded to trainwreck rather nicely.. wooo hoo!
I suppose these things happen but I will still blame jamie cause he is a
punk and he is taller then me and that makes me insecure. With my
trainwreck complete I handed the decks to Jamie who then brought it up a
notch and played his smooth jams. I did not get to hear much because I
had to be cool promoter boy and make sure all was running well. Not that
I can't count on my team but I still have to act like I am running the
place. I did however get to hear lillyanne and paul tear it up in the
front room. I big BIG BIG thank you to the smoggy days crew for hooking
this up and having the small room pop off. Around this time security
started yelling at me that there were no ins and outs and the outside area
was now off limits. Of course this did not go over well. After yelling
at some people that there were no ins and outs and "no you can't walk out
to cool off" I gave up and walked inside and decided to let security deal
with the poeple who didn't want to listen. As it turns out the security
did not enforce these rules so I looked like the dickhead promoter. So
sorry to the people I yelled at. Matty came on and played some of his
chicago flavor. He definately had that chicago sound and the crowd seemed
to enjoy him. He is such a nice guy I would love to see some other
promoters bring him out. Please hit me up if your interested. Diz came on
to close the night out and tore it up! I mean really tore it up! I have
it on tape it is sick sick sick. One of the best sets I have heard him
play since the two year anniversary. All I have tosay is check out the 4
year anniversary to get your copy.... Cause I am not posting this yet.
It has to be put out first!

Over all I think the night was great. I love the venue, I love the heat,
I love the dark! YES! I know some of you don't like this. But it is
what I love and grew up with. Dynagroove is not a rave that spends money
on lights and has "booths" set up. Dynagroove is about breaking a sweat
to good music. I hope that you guys were able to do that. I try to make
synagroove parties reflect those warehouse parties I grew up with. Dark=
good, hot = healthy, and the more money I save the more sound I can have!
woo hoo!

A thank you to all who attended. I think this is probably my second
favorite dynagroove of all times!

thanks to Zoki, Sara, Fabian, Fab, Lenard, Lillyanne, Paul T, Mike Fix,
Jamie Thinnes, Matty, & Diz. You guys rock!!!!!!!!! If anyone else
has pics please send them to me.
