with an intro from my dear lucas, i will be the second to run down the small
portion of the weekend my poor sick self could enjoy...and enjoy i did...let
me just say a loud and raukus THANK YOU to the vinyl tribe for continuing
their legacy of freaking fun five dollah funk events.
i know the weekend was full of stuff to do, but fate had me down and out
with some jacked ass cold so i stayed in on friday and all day saturday to
make sure i wouldnt miss this party...and so glad i made it.
got there spankin' early at 9pm to mingle with the other early birds and
listen to steven dimitri warm it up...
this location is prime to say the least, a beautiful patio with a lofty
deck, a sunken smoking area with a cozy firepit and lovely willow furniture,
twinkling lights and pretty tropical trees. and the dance floor!!!! well,
it's a dance studio so you can imagine the quality. all pretty shiny and
hard wood, so no turntable shakin' from the more enthusiastic of the
stompers...and so air conditioned and nice. i think i really spent 90% of
the evening on that floor listening to the tribe switch of every half hour
(which they just do so well...they are truly a force)
i dont know what it was, a ton of my friends in one spot, some kick ass
music, the sweet dancefloor, the starbuck's doubleshot, the fact i can
hardly make it out anymore...or what, but i was giggling on the dance floor
and shakin' it so hard all night and i was just tickled to be there.
i left a bit after midnight cuz i was starting to feel my $#Q@ cold come
back and emi had already played his wonderful new original plate ("you drive
me wild"...and it will drive you all wild) and headed to meet lucas and end
the night at the jojoflores party.
you heard what my man said, the music was insane...sooooooooooo deep,
sooooooo funky...people just lovin' it up on the dance floor...of course i'm
spoiled these days with such lush locations but the four grey walls and the
one green and one purple light in the back and the bumpin' bass was enough
for me...lemme just say whoever this patrick wilson guy is, go out and catch
him if you can...wow.
i tried my hardest to hang out for mr. flores but i was one tired
girl...hearing the recording the next day did not help my pouting "i wanna
go to the meet n greet" ass either...i was out of commission the rest of the
weekend trying to heal for work.
i cant wait to hear the silliness and the fun that went on yesterday, and
i'm so sorry to have not made it, but i was pitiful. (pity meeeee!)
on to another week of work and wishing i was out there dancin.
love you all,
becky*
