[Dynagroove] club survey [love from SF]

yeah....what a concept...dancing at a party. it's funny to hear you promoter
types talking about how amazed you were to remember what it actually feels
like to dance...makes me envy you about <.>this much...i mean, why throw a
party/club/whatever if you can't enjoy the music and the dj's you've worked
so hard to bring out? good to see you all bringing it back to basics and
enjoying yourselves instead of just working on having the best house
club/party in los angeles...kudos.

i see what everyone is talking about...i've read the points...and really
it's just the law of supply and demand...there is just too much supply and
only a certain amount of demand...combine that with oodles of quality
talent, local and out of town and tons of motivated promoters (whether they
be in it for the love, music, or the money, name and status) and you have
our los angeles house scene. wavering as it may be for the time being...

i'm a bit torn from this though.

how do you decide who gets to throw what when? how do you say...oh, only one
club allowed per night and only two parties allowed on the weekend...do you
start an organization of rave promoters where we all have board meetings and
we all pick a night and hoo ha! have strikes...banquets, corruption!!!

there is an element of that on this list where you'll see the random who's
doing what on what night and i wanna throw my party but not on the same
night as your party...but then there are rivalries and the like where people
run against one another with reckless abandon and who's who will be here
watching the same line up cuz so and so is throwing it...and then poor
little new talent party over here with the youngin's and the not so well
known reputation struggles it's way through twenty people on the dance floor
all night and gets their hopes dashed a bit...but there are incredible local
dj's playing that we all miss out cuz they aren't wearing that designer dj
name and have four records out.

better yet, i think it's maybe that you just can't live on your name anymore
around here...it's obvious the people that used to throw a party/club put a
recognized name on it and expect that people would just flock in
respectfully and now, you got a run for your money and effort...now if you
wanna give to the crowd you best be out there workin' for it...

or maybe integrate some different types of music together into one
event...step out of the box like annand said so well...

ugh, ok so i'm just reiterating all of your points. my main point is that
the true grit mofos are gonna ride this out. empty nights and all...the
peripheral clubs will fold after they realize what it takes to throw a
weekly club every week for years on end and they'll relinquish the duty to
the true grit mofos...and so and and so forth...

so sue, and all of you who are, i'm sure getting discouraged...just ride it
out.

and really i mean, save the headliners for the weekends, people...

hello kids.
sue's been in the game for quite some time, and knows whats up. thanks sue
for
putting this point out there... i dont live in LA anymore, but all my
family/friends are there so i still know whats going on... i.e. no more 2nd
room for dynagroove?? the turnouts at the party would always alow us to have
a
2nd room... no more... and thats sad... honestly...

SF is in a worse state.. theres just no place to have one off whereshouse
parties! its all clubs and bars. = crap with the occasional afterhours.

i actually go down to LA when i want to check a really worth it party! and
when
i do, i dance my ass off... theres no other option! as sue put it "ITS
AMAZING
HOW REVITALIZED YOU FEEL AFTERWARDS, SWEATY AND SMELLY OFCOURSE, BUT ITS SO
WORTH IT. GOOD TIMES." such a good fucking point. we forget how good, how
invigorating this feels.. we loose sight. when i leave LA after a weekend of
partying.. my body thanks me with the aches and pains of a well danced off
weekend.... alll worth it. if your on this list... you ass should be out
every
week!!! (otherwise whats the fucking point to it all?!)

sue... sooo good to see you at the last dynagroove, and even better shaking
it
with you!

cheers.
fabian
