Well I had a great time at enjoy (and today, I have the headache to
prove it).

I got there at 12:15 or so -- unfortunately didn't get to hear Naomi or
Lance. Solar was playing when I got in, and he was playing some great
tracks.... a log of nice breaky stuff that was both dirty and smooth.
Galen went on next, and he started off with "In the Pocket" (an old Nu
Groove track by Dynamic Duo), and then moved into some four on the floor
stuff for a while... His set was less consistent than Solar's and there
were a couple of iffy mixes, but he played some really dope tracks. Both
guys got me dancing.

Joshua played next. I think he's a better producer than a DJ (and that's
not saying he's a bad dj, because he's a pretty wicked producer). Anyway
he played a few tracks that made me very happy to be there, most notably
"Dream States" (Cajual feat. Derrick Carter), and the GU bootleg of "I
Feel Love" mixed with "The Chase" (allright, so I shouldn't have traded
that one). Overall, I thought he played pretty well.

I only heard a bit of Jonene's set. He is quite an interesting
character. The first time I heard him (at WMC a few years ago), he was
playing some really cool stuff - however the other times I've heard him
I haven't been quite so impressed. What I heard last night sounded
pretty good.

I have only been to that venue once or twice before, but I like it, and
I was pleasantly surprised to find out that there was a bar. I could
tell (almost without looking) that Whump was doing sound... as usual,
the sound was clean, well balanced, and not unpleasantly loud or harsh
(that series of Turbosound speakers are really easy on the ears -
probably because they don't have any compression drivers).

I was a bit bummed that more people weren't there - I suppose a lot of
people went to check our Mark Farina. The crowd that was there, however,
seemed appreciative and ready to dance.
