[Dynagroove] Miss Kitten Review

Just wanted to drop a quick review of the Miss Kitten show at Vinyl last
night.... Got there around 10 or so to get my socks rocked by Nice Fred and
Aaron Michelson of the This is Music crew.... It's always a pleasure to see
DJs who can play a diversity of sounds.... from techno, to house, to
experimental.... and do so flawlessly.... Nice work, boys! In the main
roon, Electric Indigo was tearing through some blistering experimental
techno.... a nice change from a lot of the run-of-the-mill music that makes
its way through LA. The crowd, which was one of the more eclectic groups of
people I have encountered in an LA club (in a good way), seemed to really
dig it! But the highlight of the night was, of course, Miss Kitten. She
played an amazing set of funk-infused, dancefloor friendly techno that put
her right up in the ranks of the some of the best techno DJs I have had the
pleasure of seeing. I nearly lost it when she dropped Richie Hawtin's
classic, "Spastik." All in all, a great show! It's nice to see a little
diversity emerging in the LA music scene......
