Well put, Zack! And thanks! Erin Stephenson from This is Music was playing in the front room with us as well. Too much fun!

Anyway, as for the main event I want to throw my two cents in.....

Miss Kittin absolutely, positively tore shit up like I've failed to see in ages! In fact, last night was one of the best nights I've been to in LA since I moved here last year. She dropped hard, tech-y tuneage while tweaking the mixer like she was programming a microwave. When she finally did pull out the microphone and sing harmonies over some tracks towards the end of the night Kittin nearly brought me to tears.

Last night's show really raised the bar for techno in Los Angeles. Good, mixed crowd that got really into it, and thoroughly entertaining talent. Kudos to Synthetik for making it all happen. I'm looking forward to The Hacker show in October.

Ein, Zwei, Drei, Vier, Fünf, Sechs, Sieben, Acht.....

Aaron

>Just wanted to drop a quick review of the Miss Kitten show at Vinyl last
>night.... Got there around 10 or so to get my socks rocked by Nice Fred and
>Aaron Michelson of the This is Music crew.... It's always a pleasure to see
>DJs who can play a diversity of sounds.... from techno, to house, to
>experimental.... and do so flawlessly.... Nice work, boys! In the main
>roon, Electric Indigo was tearing through some blistering experimental
>techno.... a nice change from a lot of the run-of-the-mill music that makes
>its way through LA. The crowd, which was one of the more eclectic groups of
>people I have encountered in an LA club (in a good way), seemed to really
>dig it! But the highlight of the night was, of course, Miss Kitten. She
>played an amazing set of funk-infused, dancefloor friendly techno that put
>her right up in the ranks of the some of the best techno DJs I have had the
>pleasure of seeing. I nearly lost it when she dropped Richie Hawtin's
>classic, "Spastik." All in all, a great show! It's nice to see a little
>diversity emerging in the LA music scene......
