[Dynagroove] Flicker!@$%^&$#@!!

Yeah man, flicker was good and fun.
I was so revved up to go out that night and hear all my hometown favorites
bust it loose, until after sitting in traffic for soooo long we had to make
a pitstop at tantra to wet our whistles and dance it up to raul campos
(nice!)
The traffic cleared around two and we Finally made it to flicker during
zach's set, just missing ira by an inch...wah.

Zach was warmin' up the three turntables nicely, I was tres impressed and
danced good and hard til I was panting and had to lap up some tecate (god
BLESS the all night bar, is ALL I have to say)


Somehow we shuffled out early under the guise of heading home, but I talked
my counterpart in taking me at least SOMEWHERE else...

Went to wax to see what was on the bill, and found Harvey rockin' it to the
crowd...they were EATING it alive...

Now Harvey doesn't mix a bit, but he was droppin' some heady tracks, really
poppy electro blah whatever that shit is called these days but you know?
This time I was feelin' it... And that song he closed with (I want to do
freaky things to you) had me just DAAAANCIN'

...and I've said my nugatory piece about that guy Harvey before, for
sure...I will say that the dancing at the martini lounge was pretty scary,
this fishing out of all the old 80's bric a brac is making people do some
really looming foot slide to side foot and crouching and looking creepy
these days, just sayin'...



All in all, a tour around los angeles for this girl, and I'm glad it
happened...cuz I don't see you guys much anymore with electric's winter
hibernation...so hi! So good to see all of your faces...

And on to next week, with five dollah funk, and the meet n greet...good
times ahead!

  I just HAD to take a moment and tell everyone what a GREAT time I had at
Flicker this Saturday. For different reasons out of my hands, other than a
day
party, I have been unable to make it over to a Bodyrock party.  But I agree
those boys put together a very nice party.  I was one of the first 4 people
there first to hear that Joplin MacColl OWN.  I was very impressed with her
programming and her mixing seemed flawless.  Ira earned 1000 points playing
Lance' new track, "Waterslide".  Also this was the first I have heard Zach
out
in such a long time and I enjoyed his set, the vocal tracks he chose were on
point.  I heard some of Birthday Boy Benjamin, of whom I have alkways been a
fan.  I  want to thank those Bodyrock DJs, they are such good boys.  My
friends
and I had a gay old time.
