so stompy was pretty fun.  i had not been to 'denise's taco stand' before--i liked the stealth factor of the place.  nice and dark, chill bar and good crowd up for a good time.  everyone has their favorite dj of that night, and i think mine was preston.  his tracks took me back to the sf sound that i remember from when i lived there.  yum.  what i heard of tasho was quite eclectic.  and jonny killed it as usual.  good to know that more of these events will be coming to l.a. more often.  

did anyone else feel that all that 'surprise guest' hype was a little over the top?  i was coming to stompy for two reasons--one, it was stompy!  and two, to see the stompy players.  i felt the whole secrecy about the special guest was really unnecessary, especially considering who it was and when she played.  i'd love to hear a review of her set if anyone could provide one--preston was already on when we got there.  anyway, i had the good time overall...good music, good friends and cool venue.
