Hey All, I had a wicked good time last night.
Just my quick review:
Venue:
I like that venue. Its open, it's comfortable, it's relatively cool
(temp-wise), and I thought the sound was great.
And as to the lighting, I'm a big fan of the old "Just a disco ball,
please" philosophy behind Dynagroove. And thanks to Cade's humorous
slideshow titles, hanging out on the couch, watching the slide show was a
lot of fun.
Crowd:
Very cool and laid-back people last night. Some great dancers and a lot of
very pretty women. Always a good thing.
Yes, yes, there was what I believe is the first fight in Dynagroove
history... but let's face it, it was more of a disagreement that ended
with one girl on her butt. And after about three minutes of angry glairs,
Angry Girl #1 was back to moovin' to the groovin' (thanks Diz). Angry Girl
#2 didn't even miss a beat, and went right back to dancing.
Why are women so violent? You know, if men ran the world, there'd be no war.
It's true.
Music:
First, I'm going to make a tearful confession...
I can't tell good house music from great house music. I also can't tell
the difference between a good house DJ and a great house DJ. It all sounds
good to me. Call me a cheap date if you want.
But in my humble opinion, Cade's set was great, Spettro's set was great,
and Diz rocked it. I'm sure Jamie was good, but I left before he got on.
I also want to give props to Fabian (Zero), you spun some great records
last night.
Anyway, around 3am, it occurred to me how old I'm getting, and I went home
to go to sleep. I hope you all rocked it until the bitter end, and it was
great seeing everyone.
Enjoy your Sunday,
Lizard
