I just wanted to let everyone know that Friday
night while I was at a club my car got broken
into & my purse was stolen. I parked on Melrose
off the 101 freeway, what I call a major street
compared to the other shady side streets around
there. I have tinted windows and an alarm, the
alarm was still set when I went to my car at 3:30
am and not to mention a friend was parked 4 cars
behind me. After the club I went by a friends
house hung out for an hour and a half, then went
home and after doing 2 rounds in my car & house I
realized my purse wasn’t anywhere. I checked my
car windows & saw one was open, so someone had
broken in and only taken my purse. Anyway so I
start calling my bank and credit cards and my
heart sank when they told me that they had
already charged on all 4 of my cards at 7
different gas stations in LA, VERY SCARY! I have
never felt so violated in my life!!! Fortunately
it could’ve been worse and wasn’t, I had 2 big
Christmas presents in the very back of car, I
have tons of cds, LOT’S of other goodies, but
worst of all I keep my keys in my middle console,
so they could’ve taken my car! I keep them there
and only take my alarm clicker so I could have it
on me in my pocket, obviously I will not be doing
that anymore and if anyone else does it please
STOP and DON’T leave your keys in your car, I
know a number of people that do this!!!

Anyway I just wanted to remind everyone (mostly
girls) when going out in LA, going shopping,
going to a friends, anywhere really to only keep
what you NEED in your car. Leave your purses,
bags, keys, whatever you don’t want or can’t
replace on you or at home. It doesn’t matter
anything can happen to anyone, anywhere,
anytime. I thought I was parking on a safe
street and that my purse stuffed under my back
seat with tinted windows and an alarm would be
enough, but nope! So please please don’t be so
sure that you’re safe and that nothing can happen
because before you know it, it can and will.

Thank you for reading Shannon Callaghan
