Hey e'rybody~
In addition to wishing all you fools a happy new year, I wanted to give my
take on New Yrs 2003. My night started with Fresh Start, I got there early to
a small crowd but before long it was pretty packed. The first song I heard
was "Hey Mr DJ" by Zhane being played upstairs followed by some En Vogue
(the/funky/divas/were/born/to/sing) which cannot be argued with in the least.
Downstairs, Cade came on and tickled me pink with his set. He had the Records
(yes that is Records with a capitol R) and the layering of that 'TRUE' song off
of Classic on the "I like your booty." track was hype as all get out. That
made me sing very loud. The balloons dropping and the ringing in of the new yr
was kind of mediocre. I kept on looking at my phone and they were like 4
minutes early so I wasn't really expecting it. Whatevs. Next thing I knew I
had crackpot ravers jumping over me to get *gasp* a balloon. It's a fucking
balloon, asshole, did you have to knock over my drink? Fuckheads. Aside from
that, it was a nice party. Anyway, we were off.
We then went to Sublevel. There weren't many people there I guess for the
reason stated earlier. But the venue was dope as fuck. More poeple should use
it. And the free water and smoothies and such was a nice touch. For me, the
music was kind of overshadowed with my desire to do to Defenders of the Faith
which I knew was going to be the best party of the night... and how phsychic I
was. Aside from security being ASSHOLES and the venue housing The Stairs of
Death, the party was off the heezy!@#$ The vibe was great and the music even
better. Like everyone that night was playing soundly and the track selection
was superb. JT was en fuego. And I heard Lance had played 2 of my favorite
tracks right now. He gets a medal. And The Louis FS was getting funky
upstairs, had the perfect tunes for his timeslot. But J-Dubb, fuckin' a!!! I
couldn't believe it!! I offically lost my shit (like I got a plaque to
sommemorate my shit being lost) when he busted out "Don't you, change, forrr
meeee...." It was a great night musically and vibe-wise too. I think we left
around 5-ish, went to a friends, and partied like it was 1999, I'll tell you
that much. This was the best New Yrs I have had in ages. It was so good to
see all you fools out. *Curtsy* to all of those who helped make my New Year so
fantabulous and to all the new people I met. But fuck the rest of you. Just
kidding. I love you all.
xoxoxoxo-
