JT only played for 20 minutes? wow, it felt like longer.

gotta love a JT - what a swell guy, not to mention a rockin DJ and sick producer.

yeah, too bad it got cut short but i think i had my share of wild and crazy fun anyway - confuscious say deepfunk parties are bomb.

lady d rocked it at the dig afterhours, too.

my sat was a bit confused but i caught the end of futurehouse (good stuff, as always) and then the end of jon lemmon and tony noodles - also good stuff. tony's local, i wanna see him play more in LA - what the deal, prmoters?

cheers,

a.

well i hit up the deepfunk party on friday. it was supposed to be at the larchmont--but for some reason the larchmont was not operating. (does anyone have the story on this?) but the new venue they found was fine--a chinese restaurant across from the palace. lady d was playing for a while, and then jt went on. theory and presto were rocking the patio outside. the bad thing about the venue change was that apparently they couldn't stay open after 2. which means that jt only played for 20 minutes. and olivier and chuck did not get to play at all. it was fun while it lasted though. deepfunk always has a great vibe--props to them for finding a good venue on the fly like they did. maybe they can bring jt and olivier and chuck down for the next one? *hint* hehee.

and gravity! it was my first one and i was expecting a lot from what i'd heard from past reviews. great underground venue, but dam! there were some characters there! some shady kids too. at times i
felt like a fight was about to break out. and the spooky guy that hit on every girl there? it might be cool to have security for the next one maybe? the chill kind of security of course! ;)

oh yeah the music! mmmhmmm theory and roy were playing 2 x 4/6 downtempo stylings in the front room-- making for a nice welcome. frog one entertained the crowd with his mc skills and hot dance moves--fun for the whole family.

eric davenport was on in the main room when we arrived. his stuff started out ok, but then got way too re*gressive for me. john howard wasn't bad, but he went over his alotted time--i was ready for jon lemmon to come on, which he finally did a little after 4am. i thought he sounded good, but we were dam tired from 2 nights of parties in a row, and had to get home. all in all--i had a pretty good time at both events.

wasn't there a wax party this sat. too? more more more reviews!

Hey everyone-

There were a lot of parties going on this past weekend, where are the
reviews? Futurehouse was a good time, I thoroughly enjoyed myself.
Leonard opened well in the big room, he played the last track on
Heathers 'Tangerine' and that made me happy. Joplin did a good job
opening as well. The rest is a little blurry but I know I had a gay old
time. I badly wanted to check out Gravity as well but that didn't
happen. My homies who went said it was a good time with a good crowd.
Anyone with a full review? Friday at Free Thinking was exceptional,
too. What a surprise to have JT open!!!! Oh, how we miss that boy so.
I spent a lot of time on the patio and Louis, Junior, and Irik worked it
out with the o
ldies but goldies. This week at Free Thinking is Scott
Pace!@#$#@#@$@~! AND his tracks!@#$% AND his hair!@#@%$$%$ Yea, I'm
stoked. I'm also stoked on some STOMPY action this weekend. This is a
party I had heard about even before moving to the West Coast so I feel
honored to be able to experience it now, as you guys should. See ya
guys there.

~Sara
