hey all :) 

had a blast at the hammer opening. ok, maybe the free wine had a little
something to do with it! hope anyone who went had fun too :) jah, the crowd
was a little stuffAY, but i guess it's what to expect at these type of
functions. ;p i was truly amazed with christian marclay's work. i think the
most impressive was his "Video Quartet" which was a four screen audiovisual
composition. each screen played a 5 second or so excerpt from various
movies and the sound effects, voices, etc. linked up beautifully. there's a
lot of other sculptures, videos and fun stuffs any artist or musician would
appreciate :)

Christian Marclay and Lee Ranaldo
This duet brings together long-time collaborators Marclay and Ranaldo, an
original member of the group Sonic Youth. Ranaldo's solo records are Dirty
Windows, 1998, a collection of spoken texts with music, and Amarillo Ramp
(for Robert Smithson), 1997, pieces for the guitar. He is also a visual
artist and writer, and has been included in exhibitions at the Hayward
Gallery, London, and the Sydney Museum of COntemporary Art. His books
include Bookstore, Road Movies, and Jrnls80s.
