[Dynagroove] Weekend Review! Been a while since I did one of these

Friday I was at free thinking of course! The night opened with Neil in
the main room and the guys (Louis, JR, Irik, & peter) on the patio. Neil
did a great job at his Free Thinki debut. He was laying some good cuts
down. Stuff that even my jaded ass is pleased to here. I must say I was
not expectingmuchout of the ordinary for the night but I was wrong. The
patio lit on fire and the crowd was going nuts to the likes of Pink Floyd,
BILL WITHERS, Slick Rick and so such. Juan came on and just tore it up!
One of the best times I have heard one play. Laying down some fucky ass
shit. There were atleast 3 occasions where I yelled "JUAN! what fucking
track is this!?!?!" He played great! We had a good crowd and I saw some
fools dancing like dancing machines!

Saturday I headed to Design Forms. I knew it would be slow beacause of
the rain. I was dissapointed on the low turn out. But I must say Jonra
is easily one of the best (if not THE best) DJ in LA. People should
really take the time and listen to him. Put any pre-existing judgements
aside because he is a damn good DJ. Track selection and skills are there.
Titonton (spelling) came on next. He played some dope funky weird shit.
I loved it.. Definately something I was enjoying. The only problem I have
is that from a dancing perspective he kinda cuts it up to much. For
uncordinated whiteboys like me if you don't keep the beat going we can't
keep the beat at all. ahahah... Don't get me wrong the guy is amazing but
to be a dancer it can be frustrating with the scratching and cutting. If
he were to come again I would definately check him out.. he is well worth
the money. Just be prepared to hear some "Skillz" behind the dex.
Next stop was tropical. Can't beat it! A dope venue and good tunes.
Of course the rain scared most people away but I stillhad fun. At first I
was not digging (shit forgot his name On Zee or something?) it was a
little (for lack of better discription) ravey. But as the night
progressed he brought it down with some choice cuts. I ended up shakin my
ass! Definately would like to hear him again. I have to say that Ben did
a great job with the decorations, venue, and sound. The party would have
been perfect if it were not for the rain scarring the wimpy Socal heads
away. A good job to Ben and Jonra. Both had great parties just wish
there would have been some people more willing to make an effort to get to
them! But then again I made it adn I am the only one that really matters
*wink*
