I agree with your comments and I just wanted to throw in my two cents on this 
matter.  House music is one of the most intelligent forms of music out there 
no doubt, but it is not the only form of intelligent music out there.  We need 
to look around us and see what else is out there.  See where the open-minded 
people are hanging out, and find the people who would be willing to come out 
and enjoy our music.  A lot of clubs are playing more than just one style of 
music, catering to a crowd of people that are just down to hear some good music. 
 For instance, check Club 82 out @ the Echo on Sundays, anything goes that is 
good: House, electro, rock, hip-hop, etc.  These guys are killing it every 
week, and they throw their party on a Sunday.  I never see anyone promoting any 
House music parties there, and why not try something new?  No one is ever 
promoting Bang, Underground, Synthetic, Club London, etc.  These clubs play a 
variety of music and is an untapped source to bring in new people, I was at Ivar 
last night and there were people promoting for Smokeout there.  You have to 
promote outside the scene to gain new interest, because if you promote to the 
same people over and over again, it gets boring.  I have learned that people 
always want to go out, every night of the week, they don't care where, as long as 
there is good music, cheap drinks, and more girls than guys.  You have to 
create interest, bring in new/different talent/music, as well as house.  I know we 
have our purist in this scene who do not want to conform to such ideals, and 
want house music to be like "the old days."  Well, it ain't, sorry to say 
times change people move forward, I mean look how many big DJ's crossover into 
other genres, lets use Felix Da Housecat as an example, no one ever books him at 
their clubs ever.  He is tight, and he is a true pioneer of the music, and he 
is doing probably better than any other big name House DJ at the moment.  He 
went down a different avenue with the Electroclash scene and with Miss Kitten, 
blew the F up.  When he plays out his drops the solid house cuts as well, but 
no one give him props when he is doing better than most.  Did anyone promote 
Monster Massive, didn't see too many & there was a grip of people there, and 
that's is where is all starts.  We just need to get creative with it, and think 
of new ways to innovate the scene with what we have the moment and make sure 
it is just for FUN!
