Sleeve Magazine Celebrates Second Issue
Paving the way for the future of dance music publications, Sleeve
Magazine is proud to announce the launch of its highly anticipated
second issue at www.mysleeve.com. This innovative outlet is a modern
lifestyle magazine showcasing trends in music, culture and global
news through an honest and diverse lens. To commemorate the
occasion, Sleeve will host a celebration at Fidelity on Thursday,
October 9, 2003 with the legendary Doc Martin and local deck darling
DJ Lillyanne providing the sonic selections.
Happening at Hollywood's premiere Thursday night hotspot, Fidelity at
Ivar, the Sleeve Launch Party is poised to top the magazine's July
soiree, which overflowed the Hollywood Canteen. Catch Doc Martin as
he goes below the surface with a set of unique house for this special
occasion. Opening for Doc will be the always-eclectic Lillyanne,
founder of Futurehouse, Headinghome Recordings and resident at the
weekly System. Like Sleeve itself, the festivities promise a
wonderfully rare evening so mark your calendars.
Sleeve stands apart from its industry peers by presenting a fresh
outlook on emerging urban sounds while featuring thought-provoking
social and political content. Exploring the road less traveled by
other rags of its kind, Sleeve will also present fictional
compositions from up and coming writers. The mesh of unique and
varied content with groundbreaking design will keep readers coming
back between bi-monthly issues. Showcasing the talents of our
worldly contributors, each volume will display diverse experiences,
ideas and voices.
Featured in Sleeve's second issue is an in-depth dissertation on
dance's most influential group, Kraftwerk. We get down to basics
with Los Angeles techno pioneer John Tejada and hit the South Beaches
with Deep House Movement. Get an inside look at the present day
Chicago hip hop scene via Intel and take a look at back in the day in
the first installment of new column, Slumber Party. Take an
adventure through the Hollywood Hills of Detroit techno and get
schooled on Intellect. And like everything else, it's a bit
political. Much more is inside; we urge you to come inside the
Sleeve at www.mysleeve.com.
Ivar is located at 1643 Ivar Avenue in Hollywood. For more
