So, as most of you know I headed out to Mexico this weekend to go to the big partay out there. Let me just say that it was just what I needed. I hadn't gotten away in so long (too long). ...and the great thing about it was that even though I was out of the country, so many of my fellow LA house heads were out there with me. It was seriously as if our scene invaded Rosarito for the weekend....we were in full effect.
The music was wonderful all night long. I especially enjoyed the very first dj that went on (I don't know who it was though....someone tell me...please). He was playing a lot of older tracks that I love, so even though it was only 7 pm & I was pretty much the only person there at that time, I couldn't help but start dancin'....I was feelin it for sure.
Tony Noodles & Craig Law were wonderful as well...not a dull moment in their set...they had me dancing from start to finish. The Lawn Chair Generals went on after them and tore it up...their cd is phenomenal as well...thanks for the cd boys. :)
When Vinyltribe came on in the inside area, I ventured in to get my groove on. They were bringin the funk!...and at that point I couldn't make up my mind if I wanted to be inside or outside. The music was fantastic in both areas.
Aside from the blisters on my feet (because of the nonstop dancing) and losing my voice (because of all the excitement)...this weekend was a huge success....all around! I was upset that I missed out on hearing the Gravy boys set. I was having so much fun out on the patio that I lost track of time....and when I walked back to the hotel to get something from my room, I heard the music turn off...but I didn't realize they were still goin' inside. oh well, I guess I will just have to go check out Gravy this Friday night...plus, I hear that Craig Law will also be spinning there this Friday (at least that's what I heard...???). For those of you that missed the partay, you guys should definitely go hear his set!
Thanks Carlos for throwing this great soiree. I look forward to your next one!!
...and to everyone I met up with out there...I was happy to see you guys all drive that far to hear the music we love and support our scene. much love and mad respect to all of you. :)
