[Dynagroove] There's Nothing I Can Do Or Say......

I have been procrastinating writing my DG review. I've been pretty busy
at work and haven't found the time to find the right words to describe
what a GREAT time I had. I am at work right now...and still busy...so
forgive me.

The weekend started off on Friday morning. A gaggle of homos strapped
on our.....backpacks and were on the 5. Early to leave meant late to San
Francisco to hear Derrick Carter and Mark Farina. Traffic and some
detours got us there in about 8 hours. EEK! We were late. I was
pissed off. All in all the music was as it should have been. Good
times, but I was excited to wake up the next morning to drive back home
to Lost Angeles.

WHAT A PLEASURE when I arrived at the venue. I had no idea that DG was
going to be at SOUL FOLKS! Not just a week before had I been there for
their delicious Sunday Brunch Buffet. We have become a regulars at SOUL
FOLKS so I was a little let down by not being able to smell fresh bacon
in the air and put my plate over the counter/bar area for a fresh banana
pancake. If you have not already, go eat breakfast at 613 Imperial.
You might have to thwart off some crack fiends, but it is so worth it.
The banana pancakes are bigger than 12" records!

Speaking of......the music on Saturday was uplifting. I got there at
the tail end of Jamie's set. The minute I got there I started acting
freaky (as usual). I really started to get into JT's set, but was
distracted a bit. I was not in a very tekky mood, so I wandered onto
the dancefloor, but spent most of the time outside until Diz played.

Diz. Oh Diz. Diz is the man. He stood true to form and saved the
goods for 4am. He played so much good shit! In particular there was a
female Portuguese vocal track that was amazing! There was some other
hot male vocal that I liked, but I can't really remember what the words
were.......AND how stoked was I to hear Kennedy!!! My nipples got hard!
I did not expect to hear this song since now it is technically un-cool,
so I screamed in happiness! Diz rocks me like a hurricane. I am
stoked to hear him play again in El Paso, TX on the 28th. My big city
hero in my hometown! The fun never ends.

The rest of the night/morning was spent picking up flyer litter and
broken glass. I wanted to stay on until 10am when the breakfast was
going to get going, but all the dancing caught up to me and I was
pooped.

Thanks to all the funky people that made this Dynagroove what it was.

Your daytime latin lover,

A-ron
