In my personal opinion, I do not think that house is dead in any way, however I do think that there is too MUCH house. Too much half-assed, boring, same ol' crap, everyone can do it production out there. It's great that everyone can make tracks and cd's in their bedroom now, but I think one result is that more crap circulates. Also, there are toooo many parties. There is nothing we can really do about this fact, but if you look at my event list (RC Eventlist, rythmik.net) on any given week, you will see just how many parties there are. On average, every weekend, there are about 15-20 parties each night that people go to. I remember when you were lucky to have 3 to choose from. This dilutes the scene and means less vibe. On the flip side, this could eventually become a good thing, because the good producers will have to take it up a notch to get noticed. However, I do think if a party is good on a regular basis, it will succeed. I mean, look at Freethinkin, it's always packed
and continually has a good vibe. The lame parties out there eventually die off and the solid ones rise to the top. Just my opinions though... any thoughts?
