one I will never forget is Citrusonic - LA(Doc, Steve Loria, Cris Lum

And then there was "More" on Fridays in LA ('90s) -- and Doc's Birthday at
The Glam Slam LA. I remember who else played at his b-day party as I showed
up at 3am..to listen to Jeno spin a 3hr set..followed up by Doc's 3hour set
spinning all the classics of that time.

Nostalgic times:

I'd say there are quite a few things that stick in my memory. I'll try to
list them in chronological order...

I remember when Joey Beltram and Doc were pretty much on almost every flyer,
or so it seemed...

There was Fresh Jive and that era when almost every flyer had to look like a
soap or a cereal container! I miss those cute flyers. :) Remember Mr
Kool-Aid? How about Dr Cisco?

I remember back in (I think it was) '92 when they had Under The Paw Paw
Ranch (I think that was the name of it) with Doc, Dj Dan, and Barry Weaver.

Then there were the parties at the aircraft hangar!!...fun times!! :)

I also recall one of my first parties...I think the name was Bedrock. It
was in Compton and it was busted at like 2 or 3 am, but that was normal back
then. I don't recall any of the djs because it was when I first entered the
scene and it was all new to me. I remember walking in and looking around
and just thinking, "wow". Remember then? When it was all underground and
new to us? I remember that there was no screens for the visuals..they just
had projections on the walls. Oh..and JUNGLE JUICE!....that was always
good! Oh, and that was before everyone got all "candied" out...there were
of course those necklaces made with that glow in the dark clay and tons of
guys in big Mickey Gloves and Cat in the Hat hats...but they didn't have 100
beaded bracelets going all the way up their arms...that came a little later.
Oh, and remember when ravers couldn't just buy pants that were bigger at the
legs?...they had to buy pants that were 10 times too big and then get a belt
to cinch them at the waist!!
Although I was sad to see the house and rave scene sort of branch off, I
wasn't sad to leave behind all the people who choose to play with glow
sticks! haha

Then there were all the Fuck (no screw on Monday) parties!! Those
eventually got replaced by Love Fest...and I think I've been to almost every
one of those.

Then moving up in time...there were all the FAMILY parties that I loved so
much. (by the way...I heard a rumor of the FAMILY anniversary happening
again this summer....is Doug gonna have it???)

moving up a few more years...I remember taking a break for another year or
two and coming back to the scene and seeing the Masterdome. I said to my
friend, "You mean to tell me they do this every Saturday and Sunday night?
This isn't a F#$king underground then! ..no map point and it's every
weekend? What the F#$K!!" I remember feeling like the scene had sold out.
Of course, I too got used to it and threw a few parties there a few years
ago as well (remember the GoodLife parties?...that was me n Dane).

I know I'm getting a little too "ravey" on you guys, but hey...I'll never
forget my roots. I'll never forget a few years ago when there were 43,000
people dancing together at Together As One!!
I'll never forget losing $80,000 because my event was four days after
9/11!!! That should have been a great night...Afrika Bambaataa was going to
be off the hook! oh well, that's life. Right after that was when we
stopped doing big shows and started throwing small word of mouth parties.

Oh, I almost forgot...Plantasia, Circa, and Organic!...and Narnia (before
they screwed everyone over).

I really miss the sound stage on the corner of Sunset and Orange! I drove
by and they had tore it down and I think it's a shoe warehouse now. :( I
had a lot of fun nights there at tons of different parties. Dynagroove was
there, as well as a couple of 26c parties. Oh, and Derek did Kinetic there
also. :)

I miss when Mark Farina played a great set every time!! He is a good
dj...he used to be my all time favorite!!..don't get me wrong..but he can be
hit and miss these days. I still love him though...

I miss parties at roller rinks, ice rinks, and paint ball parks! I miss
when everyone would dance until 8 am...and no one would leave until the
music was completely over!! :)

...those are the things I remember and miss! :)
