Ok, so I almost didn't even make it out at all on Saturday because one of my friends came by and we started drinking vodka at 1 pm Saturday afternoon and I passed out a few hours later (I don't know what I was thinking, who starts drinking at 2??). Anyhow, it was a good thing I called to get directions from my friend Justin or I would have been s.o.l. when I awakened from my slumber because somehow all of their emails didn't get sent out and a lot of people didn't get the directions.
I am so glad that I woke up and got out there. It was so much fun and the djs were fantastic.

We arrived up top the mountain a little after midnight and Q-Burns Abstract Message was spinning. This guy is phenomenal! He was getting nice and dirtay...layin it down!!! I believe I even heard him spin a re-mix of Erotic City (Prince) that I had never heard before, and I thought I had heard them all.

At about 2:00, Justin Hale was up. It was a little hard to follow Q at that point, so it started out a little slow, but Justin definitely picked it back up and was able to keep it right on going. I wasn't able to stop dancing...it was getting so funky and gritty....mmm hmmm!

Lando came up next at 4 and had a little bit of a snafu at first, but he made up for it during the rest of his set for sure! He was playing some vocally tracks that I really dug and he definitely kept the music bumpin'.

At 5:00 it was Joplin's turn to handle the decks. When she first got on, the wind skipped the needle quite a bit, so she had to get in all under control, hoping the wind would calm down...and she was able to pull it off. She was playing some techy stuff at first which was nice during the sunrise, and she brought it into some funkier stuff towards the end.

The last dj up was Drue, whom I had never heard of, but was thoroughly impressed by. He came on with some nice smoothe deep melodic records that were just perfect for the morning set. I loved every record he put on and did not want the music to stop. I just love it when I've never heard of a dj and I hear them spin and it's like, "where the heck have they been hiding this guy?". Seriously guys, if you like it deep and melodic, you need to hear this guy (remember the name...DRUE)!! I was lucky enough to have gotten one of his cds (actually my friend got it, but I think I might need to hold onto it for a while), so we had some good tunes to drive back down the mountain with.

Overall it was a fantastic party and I'm so glad I woke up and drove out there!! All the djs had their own "flavor" and style to bring to the table...and all of them rocked it. I saw so many people that I hadn't seen in quite some time too. Thank you Lisa for journeying up the mountain with me (and sorry I passed out and almost flaked on you). Thanks Mack, Alicia, Alex, and everyone else for a wonderful time, as always! and thank you Q-burns, Justin Hale, Drue, Joplin, and Lando...for keeping me dancing all night long. It's always a good feeling when your feet hurt this bad because the music was so good and you just couldn't bare to sit down through any of it!!
