ouch on the davenport...i honestly dig the way that guy plays, breaks,
house, or whatever...never mind the tracks he puts out (which are also fly)
haha...i will have to agree about cade...that guy makes me feel like im
dancing in gravy...as in, cant move. stuck to floor. ;) stick to throwing
parties, buddy.
if i HAD to pick someone, i think marques wyatt is pretty dang overrated...i
have YET, in five years, to hear that guy bust a good mix...of course he has
dope tracks and blah blah...but if he cant play them in some orderly, groovy
fashion...what good are they? he can also just stick to his club.
and on the same tip...what up w/ dj harvey? really...i mean, hell he's
entertaining, the dance floor is fun enough...he gets as drunk as i do and
thats kinda cool...but seriously...the guy doesn't really mix at all, which
i guess is something i look for...he doesn't rise above like 99bpm, is it
cuz he's got the hitz? can anyone hit up the thrift store for some old tunes
and drunkenly mix them all night and be as cool? is it the moustache? im in
the dark here, people.

So I was having a discussion with someone online this early AM and we were
talking about some overrated DJs... So I was wondering who do you guys
think is over rated? If you want to join in this discussion try say
something more then "they suck"
Here is some of mine
Little Louis Vega - All he plays is the same tracks for the last 8
years. His mixes are lackluster. People go crazy for him even when he is
trainwrecking. His production is sick (most of the time) but as a DJ i
think he lacks innovation.
Roy Davis Junior - King of the remix. I love a good remix but when your
set is nothing but remixes and not even that good of a remix, there are
problems. His mixing is good but common how many disco remixes can you
have in one set?
Eric Davenport - Someone knock on this guys door and let him know that
breaks were mid 90s. He claims house but the house he plays is just dull.
No funk, no bump, and like a techno-breaks edge that I despise. Some
people like this style. To me it it is too breaks. I was never a breaks
fan.
Cade - I still kinda giggle whenever I get booked. The only reason I
ever started playing out was a fluke. I have never asked someone to book
me and the only reason I play my own party is because it is best for me to
open that way when all you people come to the door and say "I am on the
guest list, get cade" there is a good excuse why I can't come. There are
so many better DJs then me in this town.
OK I am sure this wil get me in some trouble..
woo hoo
Cade
