No, it's not a town-taupe colored lipstick and an unbearable eyeshadow.
It's an update for the last week or so.

Friday June 18. WOO! The 4 year Freethinking anniversary was fun! You
know you had a good time when you wake up the next morning and you have
some sort of wound. The scab on my forearm is about to fall off, but I
am still looking for the person who burned me. I know who you are! I
was all smiles all night, though. I met Miss Violet V for the first
time at this party. She is so cool! EVERYONE better make it to
UltraVIOLET. I think she deserves a packed house. Wear something that
glows!

Last Thursday I caught the midnight showing of Fahrenheit 9/11. I
expected to be more enraged after leaving. Not really, though.
Everything laid out was pretty much what I had expected to see. Don't
be fooled by the hype! Or the green drapes that are near the entrance
of the Arclight! DON'T VOTE GREEN! It's a trick!

Flash forward to Saturday morning. This was my big day. I have worked
for GT for about a year now. My ~>one year anniversary present was
being in charge of this year's EDC will call. We were to give out over
4,000 tickets to happy ravers like me. This was the biggest job I have
ever done. I was part of the team that ran this year's Ultra Music
Festival in Miami (about 12,000 tickets), but the success of the EDC
will call was all in my hands.

Luckily, I had the help of some good kids. Queen Sara and Miss David
were at my side through the stressful day. The morning started off with
a flat tire. OH NO, I have to drive all the way to San Bernadino!
Filling it up at the pump would not cut it. I had to get that shit
patched so there were no chances of a breakdown on the way east. This
made me late getting started. I still had to get to the office to get
all the gear. AND OH there was so much gear. Computers, pop up tents,
metal tool boxes, tickets, tickets, and too many tickets. I called to
see if we needed any "special" directions? No. We're rolling down the
10, ready. Do we take the 15 or the 215? Cade saved us from an evening
in Vegas.

So we get there. And this girl (who is mentioned later in this story)
mentions something about gate 7. I figured we were at gate 7 since it
was the lot that cars could pull into. So we park. I call in. They're
coming. 10 minutes. Along comes the first of 4 different people with
mustaches to tell us that we were 'not supposed to be here.' We erect
the tent.

We were not supposed to be there. I rush over with Sara to get to the
real gate 7 cause there was a line forming. (We were at gate 3.) We
had to leave David standing there holding the very large and erect tent.
(It would have blown away). After 3 times around the median, I realize
that A car cannot get into the area near gate 7. Metal barriers chained
out the ride......and the tickets.

Finally! We almost fishtailed into the spot next to the GA trailer.
WOO! I plug in with David's brown extension cord and Sara starts
swiping! We swiped pretty good for about 20 minutes. Here comes David
with 3 other guys on a cart, with the tent, folded up! 6 hands can get
it up much quicker than one!

The rest of the day was pretty much spent swiping.....and
tearing.....and hearing the pulsing glow of the "house/electro area"
from a distance. Met some cool kids and stayed in the same 5X12 area
for over 6 hours. At about ~<10pm I went in and danced for a bit. I
don't even really know who was playing. It didn't matter. (I think it
was Miguel Migs.) The music made me feel like I was taking a breather.
MMMM. Is that good or sad?

No time for no riverboat casino, this bitch had things to do! So I go
back out for the second half and keep swiping. And then I get the word
that it is 'ok' to shut things down. By that time I had been working
hard for about 14 hours. Suddenly, I saw her (the girl previously
referred to in this story). She had been standing there for god knows
how long and I didn't even notice her. The gate seven-mentioner. We
locked eyes. And smiled at each other. Miss David found a man in the
club tent. She was gone. She also found out that "those bitches" were
playing his cd. For reals! They didn't have no Milli Vanilli DJ act
going....the kids were just groovin. They had it right.
david at boomboomrecordings.com So bye bye brawny faggot number 1. Queen
Sara was kuputz. The only person there left to lift and push with me
was her, the seven mentioner, the girl mentioned previously in this
story.

Together, we popped the cork and put it down. It never felt so good to
put the blue condom top on the shriveled metal tent. But then, the boom
boom stopped. I could still hear the chicka of the dnb area, but the
"house/electro area"......shut down........at midnight........ Time to
go home! (or to the sunset boat after party)

The dust is settling from this weekend. I had a lot of laughs, learned,
and had a great time. I got a new bill today. Overage charges on my
web hosting bill. Watch out. These emails are going to cost you.

It will be better next time,

Aaron Monty

p.s. Me and the girl mentioned in this story are going to hear some
good sounds at Heading Home tomorrow. And I smell a Dynagroove rapidly
approaching. Save your pennies. Save your soul.
