mga is l.a.'s nu jazz supergroup, made up of the finest musicians and 
vocalists in the city. all of the members have major performance and recording 
credits and are accomplished artists in their own right. ian martin, accomplished 
bassist, songwriter, and producer, berklee graduate, has performed and recorded 
with maxwell, res, ronnie jordan, and many more. louis v. taylor has recorded 
and performed with just about every major figure in jazz and r&b music. from 
old school legend ray charles to new school artist donnie, from the gerald 
wilson orchestra to soulive and karl denson, he proves himself daily to be one of 
the most consummate and versatile windmen in the game. stephen theard is the 
long-timedrummer for dave koz, as well as james ingram and terrence trent 
d'arby, sy smith was featured lead vocalist on the brand new heavies latest 
release, is an emmy-nominated songwriter, released her own critically acclaimed lp on 
hollywood records, is one of the nation's premier background singers, working 
with a wide range of acts from whitney houston to macy gray, and she fronts 
her own group, star 69. dj theory and frog 1 host their own radio show on 
streets radio sunday nights in los angeles, while stewart killen from bethesda has 
added the authentic gogo sound to recordings by skin, orgone, and masa 
chipembere. the band's music director/keyboardist is steve catanzaro.
