Well for those of you who do not know. I work some crazy hours nowadays.
I actually work a job that I start work at 12 AM on sunday morning (AKA
Saturday midnight) and I get off work at 12 PM that day. So yes I work
all night 12 hour shifts. So my party lifestyle has been lacking to say
the least. But the job is decent and sooner or later I can re-arange my
schedule. *Note if your ever up late and want to talk send me a email.
I am actually very bored most nights at work. *end note So I can only
give a kinda weekedn review.
Friday: Free thinking was off the hizzy fo shizzy my niggi, wiggi, and
nippies! It was a really good night the Nice People Djs tore it up and
handled the table bumps like champs. Dan stayed sober longer then I
thought he would! Remember to wish him a happy b-day! Muse on the patio
was really fgood too. Most people know I am not to into jungle &/or drum
and bass. I kinda just do the night as a favor to some really cool
people. But every now and then I can apreciate the music and this friday
was one of those nights. I still think DJ phear is the best D&B DJ I have
ever heard.
Saturday: Due to my job I had to play early for the friends party. I
actually played from 9 pm to 11 pm. To about 4 people and I even put a
fewl to sleep. He was sleeping durring my set. I played mediocre. I
don't know it is the hardest thing in the wold to play to an empty floor.
But I got the system warmed up nicely. I played a little harder then I
normally would for an opening set since I was recording. I have not
listened to the recording yet but I do not think it is too good. Not
horrible just not that good. I unfortunately had to go to work so I only
stayed a little bit after my set. Heard the Uniting Souls guys play their
30 minute (each) set on a soundsytem that was going out (bummer) Heard
joe rocking the main room and herd some jungle in the middle room. People
were rolling in a little late due to the map point and I think there were
some voicemail issues. But it looks like it was shapping up to be a good
party. I talked to joplin on sunday and she told me she had a lot of fun
durring her set and it was a good turn out. So congrats to the Gravy
crew... Even though they are Friday competators (Fuckers I will kill
them!)
Sunday I shot over to future house and I walked in to hear my boy justin
martin rocking the mohawk (I like) and jammin a new track of his that
sounded great. I called in to work late and actually got to stay till
2:30. Something in the back of my brain told that this was going to be a
good party and I was right. I wandered into the 2nd room and I heard the
bodyrock DJs playing on the best sound I have ever heard in that room.
Normally that room sounds like frozen poo poo hanging from the ceiling in
a steam room. But Lenard got that room handled this night. The
bodyrockdjs were definately rocking bodies. Then it was down to the patio
and into lillyanne and paul T's room where the nice mellow 120 bpm sounds
was setting the mood. God I love a low BPM. I hung out and felt the vibe
and I was pleased with it. I heard some complaints of glow stickers and
asians but I let it known that I thought it was great because in another
two months they could easily turn into a fellow house head. Man house
heads need to stop being snobs. I want people to join our little (and I
do mean little nowadays) scene. Back up to the 2nd room where lance had
people packed in playing some of the best records I have heard in a long
time. Dude that crowd was yelling! I have not heard a crowd hoot and
hollar in a long time. Sometimes I think Los Angeles goes too deep so it
was fun to dance and hear the hoots hollars and buzz I think deeper house
lacks this. Yes Yes I know deep house makes the panties wet and all. But
I don't wear panties so I don't care about that. *wink* I want it funky,
I want it chunky, I want it bangin, and I want it fresh. That is exactly
what lance was playing I logve this new sound that is comming out. Kinda
electric kinda funky, disco basslines... Tasty tasty tasty. Main room
had Markus Nikolia (Or however you spell it) ummn I must say I was not to
impressed it sounded too much like a band and his voice is not that good.
At one point it sounded like rock and roll and everyone was just standing
around. Diz cam on next and I only got 20 minutes of his set. But it
soundede sweet and he had most of the people in that room. I need not
tell people my love for this man and his record collection and mixing
skills. Where does a brotha buys these damn records? Because I don't get
those dope ass tracks he does. Then it was off to work where I have been
for the last 4 hours woe is me!
OK well I am not going to proof read this I am just going to send it off.
So don't be mad at my typos and spelling.
Don't make me carve my initials in you!!
