pressing 7"s is usually relatively cheap. A lot of punk rock ppl go to
http://www.urpressing.com/ for 7"s. They do really small runs too.

7"s are cut really low, and you can't fit a lot of music on them. For
dance stuff, you probably don't want to make a 7".

10"s often tend to actually be more expensive than 12"s.

Richard Simpson (cuts acetates for a lot of folks) will do mastering
pretty cheap, and also will do brokering of package deals through
various local pressing plants. richardsimpsonmastering.com

A lot of the charges (mastering, plating, artwork setup fees) apply
regardless of the quantity you're pressing. While you can economize in
certain ways (doing 1 step processing for the metal*, not spending a lot
of money on mastering), all the setup is still an expensive
proposition.

They're not the cheapest, but I will stick in a big recommendation here
for RTI up in Camarillo. Their quality control and attention to detail
is great.

* Doing 1 step processing is risky because if the stampers break, you
have to get the project mastered again... for small runs where you don't
plan to press more, it will save you some money, though.
