Benjamin Llamas (Pronounced: Yamas) was born in Laguna Beach and was raised in San Clemente California.
Venturing off to Loft parties in Downtown L.A. and then Warehouse parties all across Southern California ,he first experienced the Underground House scene as a freshman in High School while attending Capistrano High. But when he went to his first Desert Party back in 94, he knew that DJn was his calling.
Soon after graduating from High School, he bought himself his first pair of Turntables at the age of 18. One pioneer that truly help mold Benjamins distinctive sound was DJ Mark Farina. With his unique style of mixing along with his programming, Benjamin knew that Marks style was the sound he wanted to incorporate into his very own.
Benjamins sound can be defined as: Chicago Style/ San Fran Vibe/ Deep House infused with: Jazz, Disco, Funk with Organic Instrumental / Techy sound
Practicing to craft his dream in the art of mixing as a Bedroom DJ, Benjamin devoted 4 full years learning how to mix, making sure he knew the ins and outs first before ever playing in front of a crowd. Soon after understanding how to mix, Benjamin moved to Los Angeles where he would soon take his DJ career to the next level.
As soon as Benjamin moved to Los Angeles, he would get recognition from his peers & got booked to open for one of L.A.s favorite house clubs: Freethinkin. Starting the night right, Benjamin opened for such artists like: JT Donaldson, Lance DeSardi & DJ Buck just to name a few. Soon after playing at Freethinkin, he got bookings to showcase his skills for the likes of Sacred Grounds, The Vinyl Tribe, Uniting Souls, and The Sew Down fashion show and many events in and around Southern California.
With 8 plus years behind the Decks, Benjamin is now focusing his attention on the production aspect. With the determination that went into his DJing skills, you can bet hes going to put the same kind of effort to produce some quality sounds thats going to fuel his desire to continue on with his unique style of music.
